I think what cdg was trying to say is that, when you bring in the revered family members of our Prophet (saw) in the context of having a "weird marriage" it just doesn't sound appropriate. :)

for you/cdg it could be pain in your head, but if bride was the lady of Heaven (Khatoon-e-Jannat) and groom was the Gate of knowledge (Bab-ul-elm) then it was really awesome wedding.

So.. I think the reason people are getting upset, as Nik and Cdg said… Saying that something about religious figures is “weird” is not only inappropriate, but weird it’s self. Even if it wasn’t meant that way, it IS disrespectful.
I don’t get why you’re getting so defensive. :bummer: … Let it go?
