weird stuff happening to me...

Re: weird stuff happening to me…

Shweets, i think you have myokymia. In your case it seems you have both facial (eyelid) and focal or segmental (limbs) myokymia. It’s completely benign and self-resolving.
Treatment: Reduce stress and please please lay off caffeine. It’s a **muscular **disorder.

Shweets, however, as a drop out retard, it is my job to inform you of everything. Multiple Sclerosis has similar symptoms like myokymia. Look up MS and see if you have any of the other symptoms. But, inshallah, you have nothing to fret about.

Game and EMM, Action potentials happen in the neurons as a result of depolarization–which i think activates the voltage gated Na channel, not Ca channels. The resting potential of -65mV is from presence of Na and K ions outside the membrane. While Ca++ , I think, plays a part in contraction and expansion of MUSCLE cells, and are released from sarcoplasmic reticulum once the action potentials propgate into the muscle cell. Only time, i believe, ca++ ions play a part in depolarization of AP is in cardiac muscles.

I also read an article on NEJM about ca++(from cacl2) having a positive effect of reducing myokymia discharges (typically ranges from 30 Hz) (i dont think it has anything to do with action potentials though).

Shweets, if you want you can load up on bananas (pottasium) or take calcium supplements.
