Since i have The Musik now, i am seeing this, strange, absolutely weird trend in Pakistani vids.
a) COMPLETE or partial copies of gora vids. point in case, i dont know the song, but the vid is a complete copy of the Linkin Park song, Crawling. Dude! it’s like almost all of it, the liner, the crying, the shower. ok so she doesn’t dye her hair, but still.
b) obscure western references: there are images and symbology and what not that in those vids that is common in the west. so, it’s in teh vids. the goth look, the punk look, the cutting, scraping, etc etc. but, is it THAT common in desi land, that you have to include in the vids? theek hai log ab skirton aur tshirts main hain, but, does all of the vids stuff actually apply to us?
c) vids that have no sar or paon. Point in case, this weird vid for the song ISHQ, with that plus size lady and the dude who kinda sound the same. song, you can get into it. par the vid, again, no tuuk to it. i’ve seen it a few times, par abhi bhi mujhe samjah main nahin ayi us vid ki. (i like to make sense of vids, ok. i’m weird). i mean, agar unhon nay shaadi hi karni thi, to zinda shaadi nahin kar saktay thay? mar kay hi karni thi.
But the good thing that i have seen, so far, is putting real issues up in the videos. i don’t know the song, but basically in the vid it talks about child molestation. it’s not descriptive, par you can understand it if you see it. sure it’s got weird symbology, but yaay for that vid honestly. (or you can only see that thing if you know about these things?)
Now it’s you’re turn to take it away, and make sar and pair of my thread.
