I have had a variety of dreams in my life some of which are very weird …
My first nightmare was that I dreamt my mum and brother were going to be rolled between two concrete pillars by a six armed Hindu goddess who had a tiger that was after me.
Another dream I had was that I was running in the rain in a field and to my right was long fence, on the other side there was this interesting looking building. I think I was in restricted territory and then out of the building came out a space shuttle without a rocket and it hovered vertically upwards it paused in the air and suddenly the wings turned organic like and it appeared to be like a sting ray then in a flash the space shuttle translated itself into space moving in a direction that was impossible according to jet propulsion physics.
Another dream I had that I was falling from a window and floated on to a canopy and kept dropping on to more canopies that broke and below them were more canopies … they were either stipey red and white or green and white.
Yet another weird dream I had was with my brother who was holding a chimp as though it was a puppet and he sang a funny song
Another dream I had involved stepping up an invisible staircase so I could float and fly at will
I had a really weird dream about a strange aircraft that was attacking people in a city, I even got to go into one after it had to make an emergency landing.
And another one was really weird where I ate a chocolate bar and gave a bite to someone else and it tasted odd … only to find out that someone had laced it with “poo” and that made me convult in real life and I awoke with my mouth open coughing I had to drink water to get my tongue back in the right position.
And yesterday I had a dream that snow was falling from a cloudless sky and the flakes became big tennis ball sized bounding off things and then we looked higher up and saw whole mountains risen up into the sky and they were falling apart like sand drains away with water. It seemed whole towns or villages of people were up there searching for help as the ground they were on fell away.
Tell us your weird dreams or if any of mine are like yours
You are going to get beat up over this one Psyah....Desis are a bit touchy about telling dreams. I'm not quite sure why but its kind of a no-no. I've had a couple of whopper nightmares and always got that kind of response.
Personally, I think when a person dreams, its the brain working to organize, compartmentalize, sort out problems and straighten itself out while it has the extra time. Its like everything has to go from CPU to memory banks but before it gets there, it all has to get sorted etc.
Just in case I'm wrong ;) I will not post the details of those "whopper" nightmares that I had...thank goodnessgraciousme, they were few and far between.

I don't know but this dream of your remind me of Qayamat.:( Its scary I used to watch this dream in childhood that somehtings are coming after us and they are gonna destroy us and they will eat us ,it was no monsters nothing but just the feelings.
Well brother I think dreams are usually what you have been thinking all day in your mind some or very few dreams are from ALLAH SWT and some scary ones are from Shaytan .Well I loved one my weird dreams and I used to see it often but when I start telling people it never came again even though I thouhgt about it all day since I am grown-up I want that dream to come.:(
I stopped getting nightmares after the age of 6 the rest of these dreams I class as weird ... only one is a nightmare above.
The reason why desis say you must not talk about bad dreams is because two main points:
1) They are afraid someone will be able to gain/tell something secret about them
2) Due to exploded and twisted traditions
The Islamic perspective is that nightmares are not to be dwelled on because they are false and from Shaitan. Hence speaking about them is in vain, so people have twisted this and made it more than it really is. I just wanted to start off an interesting topic ... taboo breaking one at that! Thanks for your potential input.

Reminds me of a scene from Indiana Jones and The Temple of doom.
most of the time our dreams dont have a real meaning......but if ur really worried abt sumthing or pray really hard or have a feeling about something and u get to see a dream related to that thing ...thn may be in that case the dream has a special meaning...

And I wish the same to you!!
That would be intersting to read. You sure u dont want to ?
So Psyah what are you saying if you see something very nice in dream is it from Shaytan or just your imaginations.
Peace ume-zafeerah
One does not negate the other. I've had very 'nice' dreams also, but I have only listed my weird ones.
For example there was this once I saw the Kaabah and I was in the haram. Within 6 months I was doing Hajj. The plans to go on Hajj fell into place very quickly just 6 weeks before. In that occasion I am sure the dream was not from Shaytan.
Such things should be taken on a case by case basis. We know that prophecy has ended except in the form of dreams. In other accounts if I remember correctly 3% of dreams are prophecy so that could mean that for every 100 dreams 3 of them are prophecy or it could mean that every dream contains a mixture of fantasy, shaitanic delusion and a small portion of truth.
However, for nightmares in particular those are from Shaitan and we should not fear any future prophecy from them as they are false.
Usually prophetic dreams with warnings do not create fear but rather will create intense worry and concern and they will come over and over and appear stronger and stronger just like with the dream of the Pharaoh in the account of Yusuf (AS).
Also some dreams are lucid i.e. they are controllable with a concious mind or at least the viewer is aware that it is a dream. I have manipulated my dreams on many occasions. In the nightmares especially I never used to let anything get too out of hand.

Mashallah for the dream of Kabaah and yes sometimes I manupulate my dreams too.
Nice post Psyah. Dreams is one of my favourite topic. I will post mine later, cuz at the moment feeling too bummed to say anything
we desis are superstitious folks at times. Therefore not willing to share dreams. Hmm… dreams are just reincarnation of the matter that sit at the back of your subconscious. Sometimes it may be futuristic, sometimes a jumble of things from past, for example that scenario where u see urself falling on red stripped canopies are often used in movies, maybe a memory that stuck itself and is resurfaced in dreams.
If one can understand dreams and keep a journal of them, they can help you interpret what your body/subconscious is trying to tell you… one can learn alot from it.
I have stopped dreaming recently… but hopefully I will share more later for sure
even i had some of those - the weirdest one was in which i was with a gurl i had known almost a decade back and never saw her again . i dreamt she was casting a spell on me and she had buried an old woman alive . her body had rotten and as soon as i find out i start running away from her .. but an extremely tall man is coming my way . his both arms are broken and blkood streaming down .. i keep running but then then i find its turning dark ...
then i start reciting ayat-ul-kursi but i keep running towards the jungle .. suddenly i come across a building - i seek shelter , but inside i find out its my own house .. and there are some ppl hving tea in my house ..
