Basically what works for me is if I cut my portion size so if you have 2 rotis then have 1, eat boiled egg instead of omelete, make salan with less oil, no fried food and if u must have junk food then have just 2-3 bites to satisfy your craving (same for dessert) but it is best to avoid it
I have 3 meals per day and snacks should not be more than 100 calories
chana suggestion is good, air-popped popcorns without any butter are good at filling you up, any 1 fruit is around 100 calories or less, raw veggies with hummus taste amazing and are filling
so if you're a girl 1200kcal per day plus excercise should be enough to make you lose weight (unless your height is under 5 feet then it may mean less calories)
plus losing more than 2 lbs per week is unhealthy so don't try to starve yourself as once you start eating you'll gain it back
if you lose the weight slowly then it is more likely to stay off
and yes a little bit of activity will only help you
