Please share ur stories!

Re: Weight question

I was 110 lbs at my first appointment 2 months into the pregnancy. By the end of the pregnancy, I was 135 lbs. A week after giving birth, I was 120 lbs, and since then it's been a battle because my weight fluctuated a lot. The harder I tried, the slower the process got. Most women lose their baby weight by the one year mark, but for me it wasn't until past 18 months that I got back to my normal range.

I feel that I was really careless in my third trimester. I barely had any appetite during my pregnancy, but in the third trimester, it increased a lot. I started being careless about what I ate, and I think that's what lead to the unnecessary "fat" weight that I could've avoided. I had a few pregnancy related physical issues, so by the third trimester I couldn't exercise or even go for a walk.

If you're worried, I'd suggest you continue eating healthy, and maintain an active lifestyle -- including exercise, for as long as you can.

Wow ur start weight was very low!!!

Anyone elsee????

Re: Weight question

Weight has nothing to do with it unless u compare ureself with someone who has the same built as u.

Big boned, small boned, petite, full...it all makes a diff.

U should talk to ure dr about what ure pre-pregnancy weight was, and hoe much u can gain by the end of it... They would be able to give u a better idea.

As for the hunger.... Im nearly in my final tri and the hunger is still going strong. I eat it all... Junk or not... Could care less anymore.... I know i can lose it cuz i did after my first baby too (did the shred)... So taking it wasy satisfying the unborn and then work my butt off post delivery.

Just eat healthy. Thats all... Dont count calaories nor get upset if u look like a baby elephant....in a summer pregnancy u get swelling a lot easier than during a winter pregnancy (exp of both for me)... Water retention can also make u look fat even though u may ot be eating as much...

So its all good.

Re: Weight question

Thanks khawateen, i have been able to lose alot of weight before for my weding! So i know if i put my mind to it i can

Is baby weight alot harder to lose or its same as normal weight gain?(i know this may sound like such a daft question)

Re: Weight question

Baby weight was harder for me to lose than regular weight cuz a) u have a kid to take care of... Rubbish diets will mess with ure milk supply and b) u need to find the time to exercise so it takes an even greater will power to do it... That baby WILL keep u busy enough as it is.

C) even though u lose weight... Dnt be schocked if u dont fit into ure old clothes as nicely as u did before cuz pregmancy also changes ure body structure.... So now u gotta add toning excerices to ure work out .... Belly fat was the most difficult for me.

But its acheivable... :)

P.s) weight loss before pregnancy is easy... Atleast for me it was ....cuz of the stress factor.

Baby is a lot stress too but not quote the same hehe

Re: Weight question

Lol hmm thanks for the insight!

I was curious becausr a few monyhs aftr delivery i will be visitin pak inshallah and we have quite a few family weddings!!

Re: Weight question

Jusr eat healthy when u can... Stay off junk food.... So u dont gain a lot of fat.... And then post delovery, work out after the 40 day period. Start off slow... And then build up ure stamina... The weddings will be motivation enuff :)

Good luck

Re: Weight question

i started out 107 pounds; peak pregnancy was 146 lbs, and then right afterwards was 130 lbs. Working on shedding these extra pounds now lol

Re: Weight question

Almost 18 weeks into the pregnancy and I weigh 4 pounds less than the pre-pregnancy weight BUT the midwife isn't worried at all.. she believes I will catch up and it's no big deal.. ironically, I see the bump but no weight gain.. i guess it's just the uterus pushing things around and making it all visible!!
