Weight & Genetics

When my parents were my age, they were sticks. I used to be a stick too. If it wasn’t for the height, I would have tried out modelling.

But now I have the body shape they got after they got married, garfed down ice creams nightly, and had babies.

They tell me that by the time i hit 30, I should look the way they do now in their 50’s.

:bummer:

This should make a classic case of nature vs. nurture.

Re: Weight & Genetics

awww thats sad :halo: …

start working out girl :smash:

Re: Weight & Genetics

wow same here...I look at my parents now and theyre both quite fit, but they have put on weight naturally because theyre ageing, and my parents were both super skinny right until their late 30s and im like chubby in my 20s. Tis sad indeed.

Re: Weight & Genetics

I think its the food I eat vs. the food they ate when they were my age. For them, eating jamun and mangoes is analagous to my Haagen Daaz.

Re: Weight & Genetics

yeah exactly, they had a much more healthy lifestyle. Their food was organic, no microwaved meals and they probably walked everywhere :p

Re: Weight & Genetics

PCG, you are fine…stip fretting and start living. SOme cosmos…some dancing…some cocaine..you make you like model yet again. :k:

Re: Weight & Genetics

^ yeah the dancing does work...back in my clubbing days i had no problem maintaining tight abs.

Re: Weight & Genetics

I believe genetics is such an excuse. It provides a framework for what your body naturally wants to do (hold on to weight, build muscle, etc.) But it's not right to feel limited by it. As long as you eat right and exercise, you can create your own body, as opposed to feeling like you are cursed to look like your mother.

Re: Weight & Genetics

no, we're saying why oh why dont we look like what our mothers looked like at this age :(
