Starting this thread where I’ll post a question on weekly basis and members are requested to participate and share their answers (knowledge) in accordance to the question. It will be highly appreciated, if:

1- We stick to the question and don’t derail thread with unnecessary remarks, comments etc.,
2- We’ll try to answer with reference from the Glorious Qur’an and/or Hadith, and
3- We will respect each others.
4- We will open separate thread if/when required detailed answer and/or further discussion on a topic.

Question:

What is Islam? It's meaning and describe three (3) ranks of Islam?. Please provide reference from the Glorious Qur'an and/or from Hadith.

Islam is a religion, right? But what are the 3 ranks in/of it?

Islam is the religion for all the people in the world all the Muslims are very peace loving and want to live in peace and love ..

Pardon me for late reply as I was busy.

What is Islam and Its Meaning?

While believing in Almighty Allah we must obey HIS commands without any objection. Sincerely worshipping Almighty Allah alone. Believing what Almighty Allah tells us and having faith in him.

Reference from Qur’an: Chapter 31 Verse 22: “And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allah will be the outcome of [all] matters.”

Explanation from Hadith: In the Musnad of Imam Ahmad and in an-Nasai that Muawiyyah ibn Haydah said, I asked, Messenger of Allah :saw2: , by the One Who sent you with the Truth, what did Allah send you with? He :saw2: answered, Islam. I asked, What is Islam? He :saw2: replied, That you should resign your heart to Allah, exalted is He, that you direct your self towards Allah, that you pray the obligatory prayers, and pay the obligatory zakat.’ In a narration of his there is, I asked, What is the sign of Islam? He :saw2: said, That you should say, I surrender myself to Allah and confine yourself exclusively [to that], that you establish the prayer and pay the zakat, and [remember that] all of the Muslim is sacred to the Muslim.’

What are the three (3) ranks?

(i) Islam.
Islam is that you witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and you establish the prayer, and you give the Zakat, and you fast Ramadan, and you perform the hajj of the House if you are able to take a way to it.

(ii) Iman.
Iman is that you affirm Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day, and that you affirm the Decree, the good of it and the bad of it.

(iii) Ihsaan
Ihsaan is that you worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you dont see Him then truly He sees you.
