Let us all try to get done with the ‘kal/aaj kya pakaaoon?’ dilemma here. Every weekend,we can plan for coming week’s meals (breakfast,lunch,dinner) keeping in mind about them being balanced ( for example one day for red meat, 2 days for chicken, 3 days for lentils/veggies and a treat/feast for weekend-saturday/sunday according to our commitments for it ). We can share the recipes we used/looking forward to try so it would be helpful for everyone. You can all post suggestions/options and we’ll make a sticky thread for each week. I am sure it will be really helpful for SAHMs as well as working ladies because having planned in time, we can do necessary grocery shopping for the upcoming week

Proto I have been trying to implement this forever. It has yet to be done. Lots of my friends who work outside the home do this . I know aloud of Americans do do this. The freezer can be of great help.
I tried doing that but it is a flop for me. This is what I do now, Thursday go through my freezer, pantry, fridge and see what I have.
Come up with 3-4 dishes for the week with things I have at home. Buy any grocery not at home for those dishes.
I stick to the menu planned, no extra grocery in the home. No rotting veggies in the fridge and no overstocked pantry.
That's a very good idea. It's very important to use the groceries you have in the home and plan menus around that. That should be a priorty.
^this is my plan for this week IA. Parents are returning home on friday iA so I will be with them for the weekend. I still have to go clean the place since I know how good my brother is with it He didnt even change the bedsheet since a month after mom left and mom saw that while he was on skype with her
For me its very tough to plan a roster for a week, I just try to plan cooking of 2 or 3 days in my mind with available grocery at home. I try to go out once in fortnight for veggies fruits etc and for grocery i try my maximum to do it on monthly basis but sometimes i do have to go after like 3 weeks. Bread milk etc my husband do get that after they finish from way back to masjid usually
raania, you wouldn’t want to see my planner for 17th october till 2nd november 2-3 dishes DAILY for the guests (bil&family) 78coming to stay over at my place on top of all my eid orders plus my dad visiting after 2 yrs eating out will be there but not for both lunch and dinner. Allah khair karayn.
