I want to be able to relax on the weekends and not worry about cleaning, laundry or grocery shopping. Most of the time I’m not successful and I end up wasting the weekend away doing chores or moping around the house.
What do you do on your weekends and how do you ensure that they aren’t wasted away?
Re: Weekends
well, I do grocery on tuesdays n fridays.....laundry n Ironing everyday.....menu planning n paperwork etc. on wednesday n thursday
weekends are always for major weekly cleaning , stockpiling my freezer with needed items like kababs, rolls etc. kids homework n sometimes cleaning the car.
I always feel my weekend wasted away if I do no housework etc. I've divided all my 'to do' in different parts and weekend gets the most of burden usually
yeah but right on the monday morning I make a promise to myself that next weekend I'll do nothing n will catch up on sleep so I can start a new week in a relaxed manner...needless to mention such a weekend never comes

Re: Weekends
Hinna, the best way to relax is ignore the mess and realize that there will always be something to do. . . and it can all be done later.
I procrastinate a lot. It works wonders.

Re: Weekends
Every weekend, I am amazed at how Friday afternoon is gone in a chutki, at how Saturday seems to last 1 second, and how Sunday is taken up with getting things ready for Monday, and how Sunday therefore technically really isn't part of the weekend.
I don't know how fast today passed. Just way too much to do that I save for the weekend, so that it feels like I am running errands or doing SOMETHING all the time!
Next week, I am not getting out of bed on Saturday morning.

Re: Weekends
if you are doing chores, then the weekend is not really wasted. If you were sleeping all day long and still had a pile of laundry and dirty dishes then I could say you were procrastinating and wasted your wknd. Hinna it doesn't sound like you had a wasteful wknd. Maybe you meant eventful :)
Re: Weekends
I guess my whole point is that on the weekend I want to be able to recuperate from the week’s events. Right now my weekdays are extremely hectic because during the week I’m either staying at my parents to help my nana around the clock ('bout 2-3 hours of sleep a night), making sure things at home are getting done and the house is running smoothly, at my in-laws helping out, at the doctor’s, getting to my personal appointments or at work.![]()
There should be a law that states the weekends are just to be used for extra-curricular activities and that no stressful issues or time consuming house chores are allowed!![]()
