I love the way these new wedding videos are made with beautiful shots in beautiful places the couple walking hand in hand. I do however find it too much when the couple are very close, hugging , face to face very close up, even if they have had the nikkah and its the valima it still doesn’t seem right to me to have this in your wedding vieo that will be seen by all. These things should be kept private no? Maybe i am old fashioned in some ways but i think thecloseness is not for everyone to share with you. Hhmmm?

Everyone's different and has their own personal tastes..
Whether or not a couple wants to be more close and informal or keep a bit of a distance is up to them.. They're married and should do whatever they feel comfortable with imo

Lol the couple are the only ones who will watch a wedding video more than once, so it's up to them really isn't it?

Lol. Knowing my family, everybody will want a look at the video. I know what you mean, Mrs NM. I guess it's also family culture. PDAs are extremely weird in mine. Plus, as is, my family and my friends know two very different sides of me. I cannot imagine my little cousins, my aunts and uncles - Oh God, my Grandmother! - watching me share sweet moments with my hubby. Now if only these things weren't so goddamn expensive, I'd totally get two :D one boring and proper for the family, one fun and crazy just for us!

We have lots of family and some friends wanting to watch the video afterwards, I wouldn't feel comfortable anyway if it were my video so each to their own I guess

^ This. Everyone has a different level of comfort and is also fully aware of what their family will think of these kinds of pics. So if a married couple is comfortable with taking those types of videos/pics....then I see nothing wrong with it.
P.S. I was one of those brides who had those types of pics/videos taken. :D

^ So was I :) we didn't have video but we have lovely photos of us.
Rule of thumb is: if you're not comfortable, don't do it. These are your memories from your day so just be you. Having said that, always be tasteful! No one wants to see you two Frenching lol. Probably not even you a few years down the line! :p

Haha! This post just tickled me.. I recently got married and my wedding video has been watched by many! Me and my Mr. shared some moments where he held my hand during rukhsati and wiped my tears! Also, he kept giving me looks throughout the wedding ceremony and whispering stuff in my ear! I still find very uncomfortable watching my video and it wasnt even that intimate. One of my family friend’s daughter got married and had a little peck on the lips in her Walima video. Oh! I wish my parents were not watching the video with me lol

^omg!! i must be very old fashioned, i cannot stand this type of display for all to see, intimate moments should be shared in private, i also would have heart attack at the thought of my dad or uncles watching!! also how can you be so comfortable with all this PDA on your wedding day where i assume is the first time you are getting up and close to your spouse??

Maybe the same way many couples do 'it' the first night they're up close and personal? (If the marriage is arranged anyway)..

I’m not a prude or conservative, but I still felt funny with some of our wedding poses during the photoshoot. It wasn’t even anything out of the ordinary, very proper, very “OK” by desi standards…like just standing next to each other…it felt funny
