hello ladies!
since we are (mostly) a community of brides-to-be and a large number of us seem to be based in the GTA (in and around Toronto), i thought it would be a good idea to list venues that we love, that we’ve booked and ones that we wouldn’t recommend, just like we have lots of other threads on designers and photographers.
i’ll start us off, but please feel free to add in your venue recommendations and any other details, including price per person, that you know of:
**99 Sudbury **- Weddings | Events | 99 SUDBURY
This is a downtown venue that is absolutely gorgeous and can accommodate up to 250 people for a sit-down. They also work with The Host for catering if you require a desi menu.
If you’ve spoken to them about bringing in your own caterer, please let us know!
Parkwood Estate– Weddings & Social Functions - Parkwood Estate
I had my wedding here. Its a gorgeous, gorgeous private mansion located in Oshawa, similar vibe to Greydon House in Toronto. Its a bit of a trek depending on where you live, but the price is so well worth it and you get the entire property. They can host up to 200 sit down guests under their tent on the backlawn. If you have more than 200, you could ask them to put up two tents on the property. They have preferred caterers (who make amazing food) and are willing to purchase meat from any supplier, including a halal one, if you ask them to (which is what we did). This is best for those who prefer a fusion menu though because they won’t be able to make the typical biryani/salan menu for you. We served steak (which they BBQ’d on site), yorkshire pudding, and other things of a similar nature.

This one is super popular for mehendis, and this is where we had ours. We had a small mehendi- around 40 people- but there was plenty of space for more. Their food is good, they include things like coloured napkins and a basic stage BUT beware their backroom and leaving ANYTHING there. Things were stolen from several weddings from there, including ours, which sucked.
