Wedding Things

Here i just wanna ask ur suggestion on different things that i am buying for my marriage.
Firstly i ask abut suit case, or u may say wheel carry bag. Shops hv diffrent companies and full set including 3 or 4 .
Some one told me suit case companies doesn’t matter. all hv same stuff. I saw pecific in hyperstar. they cost 18000. Now ur suggestion??

Re: Wedding Things

i hv seen summit in hyperstar ,if im not wrong,,its durable...dun knw bout paciic..

Re: Wedding Things

I hv heard samsonite and dell r good and durable. any one hv experience?

Re: Wedding Things

??????????????????

Re: Wedding Things

u are going for the companies label even for the suit cases ? y dont u go for local suitcases?

Re: Wedding Things

wt do i do? my MIL prefer for the best.. caz their relatives r living in UK. we hv to show the best.

Re: Wedding Things

If you want the best go for Louis Vuitton.

Otherwise don't see what is wrong with normal suitcases from local shops. I'm sure people have better things to do than judge you on the make of your suitcase.

Re: Wedding Things

Samsonite suitcases are pretty expensive ... dont know about the quality depending on how much you will be travelling. i needed some and just bought the range i could afford which was non-branded however my SIL has just bought samsonite ones for 54000 from pak for her wedding!

if you have money, go for it. I personally cannot justify spending so much. But then if quality is good and it lasts you for a lifetime.. then hmmm.....

Re: Wedding Things

BAHAHAHA branded suitcase??!!!! are u serious! Pakis are so funny! yea its good to have a durable one if ur going to travel abroad etc, but it doesnt have to be branded as such, i dont think i have ever checked the brand of my suitcases... :p

Re: Wedding Things

come on girl just because they are in the UK doesnt mean they will judge you on your suitcase??????/

Get a durable one at a reasonable price :)

Re: Wedding Things

lol.... inlaws are quite funny at times :) you have to buy a branded suite case just cause their relatives line in UK? and i bet ppl living abroad don;t really sepnd that much on these kind of things, i travel hell lot, and i buy those less than 100HK$=1000PKR suitcases, they stay with me for a couple of trips and then i buy a new one. whats wrong with carrying a non branded cheap suitcase? they are treated same once they are checked in at the airport.

Re: Wedding Things

well good thread. many mini minor things can be asked here . and
@ zaiena
i think u should concern with quality and type. like u trolley suits case or without trolley. which one be the best one?? suits case hv 4or some time 5 sizes. and at the time for jahez u will buy the whole one. So now see whether u need all size trolley or with out.
and i think with trolley is good to move on. well wait for other suggestion.

Re: Wedding Things

I think its really important to invest in good suitcases because they really get roughed up when you're travelling ...so its a valid concern. Rather then going for designer brands I would suggest buying from one of these brands, as they are excellent quality and will last for many many years :

  • Samsonite
  • Delsey
  • Swiss

(though I would also trust any other brand that comes with the 5-10 yr guarantee ...most of the good brands do)

Things to consider:

  • Size - bigger pieces hold more but get heavier - when travelling most airlines have weight limits
  • Weight when empty : Add to the burden you carry / however heavier suitcases may be sturdier
  • *Fabric *- nylon luggage is light and durable
  • Features **- **quality wheels, pockets, dividers and quality of zippers all matter -** Color** - buy a dark color so that marks wont show on it .... but try to buy something other then black so that you can easily identify it.

..... incase you're wondering no, I don't work for any luggage company ....I just travel a lot and recently bought a set of suitcases for myself keeping all these things in mind. Hope this helps ! :)

xx

Re: Wedding Things

Thanx all for ur lovely replies.
I understand the points that all hv given up. but they notices all my things a lot. and all times refer the things with UK. first they refer UK whenver we talk abut the dress of my fiance. but when she saw the dress of good brands that my mom buy from Panorama , a good one place in Lahore, now she talk very less on it.
Hope now u may be understand y do i think so? again thanx.

Re: Wedding Things

Yeh, we understand but you shouldn't start off married life like this.

If you're not even using them for travelling and just transporting your jahiz, then seriously, you really don't need to worry about it.

For me, personally, I would only spend money on a hand carry on for travelling. Otherwise, all the expensive branded ones have let me down. The hold suitcase I've used a bunch of times now and is still in excellent condition, my uncle bought for me from a shop in north london and it cost £30! If people in the UK don't care about the brand of the suitcase, then you shouldn't be worried about what your inlaws think in regards to brand=better. It's not like your gifting it to them. It's your stuff and you should buy what you think is good and you can afford.

Re: Wedding Things

u r right dear. actually in uk things r much better than pakistan 's things. in uk if u buy a cheap thing, it will go with u good . but here in pak, it completely opposite. as MAHEEN said above orginal samsonite suit case price is 54000. but now every other suit case label same or a high one.
in pakistan, buy a good things is a difficult task whther u buy branded one or just.
My point to ask there is not only abut brand but also shop. that sells original things in reasonable price. i hv no freak of brands. Hope friends my point now clear. and thanx for ur nice suggestion.

Well last night, my mumani bought the suits case set from YSL. color is grey. and all set hv trolley and price is 10,000. wt do u say is price reasonable ??
