Did anyone make one of their wedding photos to share on their Valima or any other later event?
Do you think a Wedding Slideshow would work well at a chauthi or a post wedding get together party?
I am looking for styles as well as songs. Any ideas?

This one was done beautifully.. the music and transitions.. very smooth.. nice job.. the second one had a very heavy song for the occasion.. but yeah gorgeous sandals man!!!

I do make videos but usually I incorporate motion graphics and text… a little poem sorta… i believe that justifies the photos and engages the audience a bit more..
for my wedding.. i have asked the photographer just to give the snaps and i would do the photoslideshow myself

Beautiful slide shows! I am also doing a slideshow for both the wedding and Valima too. What program should I use though?? Suggestions on programs I can get from the internet? Other and Windows movie maker, its an option but its pretty simple and basic.

As for programs.. I am a MAC user.. since i am in this field.. i use professional software like final cut, motion and After effects... but as an amateur.. my gonna be sis -in-law did some wonderful slideshows with windows moviemaker...
haha i’ve had my eyes on these for a while now! they’re from Victoria’s Secret..

Yeah Im also from the field - and am an apple mac user.. Apart for the professional softwares that indylady suggested I also use iMovie for the effects and all and iDVD for chapters and everything.
Pretty cool - I did my brother's wedding and showed on the valima and also did it on his 1st anniversary with more pics / videos like all the bloopers from the dance practices etc we held. Was awesome!
Now for someone who is not a Mac user, you can use the good old Microsoft Movie Maker, or even better yet less complex to use is Microsoft Photo Story, you can download it off the internet =)

Slideshows
How many of you have/ or are willing to have one on your wedding. How long is too long? Personally I think they are intimate and beautiful and I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS cry. The longest i have seen was like half hour plus but the couple's friend interviwed all their friends and wellwishers and did a bollywood style dance number showing how the couple met. It was sweet and hilarious but then again I have seen one where within the dulhan's slideshow, her sister's wedding recap slideshow was in it so that was way tooo long.

It can be cute but the key is to keep it short and simple and not to make it "too" intimate. I have seen quite a few of them in my outings in desi weddings and some can really go overboard.

Haha I'm short too but I still love my flats!! I told my fiance about these when I saw them since we don't have victoria's secret in Canada. Heels in these though would of been perfect for a mehndi!
And Mic Office photostory huh? Will look into. Windows Movie Maker is great but I feel like it doesn't have a variety of options for moving titles and making putting panels of photos in one screen and then disappearing in different directions or displaying a collage style of photos in one screen for a couple of seconds, that sort of thing.
I gues I'm looking for soemthing a little artsy fartsy with cool effects lol. To bad I'm not a MAC user yet
And if you guys don't mind me asking, what type of work do you do in the field?

Sana… I am a lecturer in video production… and teach intro to video production and digital effects… so i cover from basics to advance level.. i have my own cards website.. www.recherchecards.com and have been working on the wedding invite which inshallah i will send you the link if you interested in it 
windows movie maker does have some artsy stuff.. like old film look.. and some different transitions.. because my gonna be SIL had done few works.. and they were very nice for her being a novice.. but yes for something yo see above.. you probably need more sophisticated software… but if you search on youtube… you will find some slideshows made from free software.. which are really good slideshows with artsy stuff you want..

That's too long, I think and it would feel like a movie screening instead of a wedding. I guess if the guests were entertained then it is all right.
