Wedding Singers

Hi… I want to hire a few girls to sing at my Mehndi in April (no one in my family is very good at it!). Does anyone know of any service providers in the Toronto area? Or if any one of you know mehndi songs and are interested in singing, let me know!!!

Thanks!

Re: Wedding Singers

How much will you pay :faizy:?

Per song or per hour?

Re: Wedding Singers

Per hour I guess for 2hrs. Plus dinner!

Have you done it before or just interested in making some extra cash?

Re: Wedding Singers

I do this for a living.

I usually charge $1000 per hour. I have a group with 20 girls including myself, 2 dholkis, and we put on a great show.

  • I hope you find someone though :bb:*

Re: Wedding Singers

For $1000/hr, I'm going to have to learn to sing for myself! haha :)

There must be some service out there for ppl to come sing and play dholki at mehndi's. I can't find anything online :(

Re: Wedding Singers

haha, I say let your family sing. It'll be a lot more fun with them doing it, even if it sounds horrible

Re: Wedding Singers

Don't misunderstand me, I would love for my family to sing and have a great time no matter how they sound! It's just that no one knows the words, so the typical scene is one person knows how to play dhol and sing songs, and few ppl try to follow along, but since no one else really knows everyone just claps and the few ppl singing feel awkward and stop. Even if there are song books, if you don't know the songs it's hard to follow.

At the last two family weddings, after 2-3 songs there was silence.

That's why I want to hire a few girls. So a few girls that know what they are doing mixed with a few family members that know what they are doing, and everyone else will feel comfortable and try to sing along!

Re: Wedding Singers

Ask someone who's had a wedding in your area, or check your local desi channel/website.
