Im a new user on Paklinks and this is my very first thread but i have been following Paklinks for a loooong time.. I wanted to ask if anyone has any good reccomendations for wedding shopping in Multan.. my sister is getting married early next year so we needed to get clothes made for the wedding. Anyone know of any places who do good kaam or can copy designs from pictures etc? Anything about shopping in Multan would be really helpful! Or if anyone has any experiences of shopping there?
Also has anyone had their wedding makeup done from Multan? Ive seen Allenora and Cosmos in Multan and i wasnt totally impressed.. ive seen much better makeup being done in Lahore and Isl..
If there was a thread about this before please send me its linkk..
My sister lives in Multan, she works with families to arrange for them and assisting them with making wedding clothes. you give her your orders and she
My in-laws live in Multan so I've been there about once a year for the past 6 years but I can't help with suggestions for clothes shopping I'm afraid.
I bought my wedding stuff in Lahore as did my cousins. I can't recall being impressed by the selection of fabrics or work in all my time of being there. Unless you are after specific things which Multan is famous for.
No one I know who has married in Multan has had their clothes made there. For my BIL's wedding, my MIL went to Lahore and ISB for his wife's walima lengha and other formal suits.
Otherwise Bahawalpur seems to be a popular nearby option for wedding clothes shopping.
For makeup, it depends what you're going for. I have seen some brides from Allenora (my BILs wife was one) who requested a very light base and a fresher look and they got it. I had my hair and mehndi done from Allenora (after visiting and rejecting Cosmos) and was happy with the results. Don't bother looking at their pictures and portfolio, if you can visit whilst brides are getting ready, you will get a much clearer picture.
i think Hussain Agahi is a good option where u can get fine bridal dresses and at a cheap rate, and they do good copies of designer bridals as well. other than that, go to experienced tailors or some friends who run this business , for stitching of clothes.
try to make clothes which u can wear afterwards, really liked vaneeza's dress. jewellery could be taken artificial as gold nowadays is too expensive and then u will have to pay zakat on it with the same percentage.
For makeup, allenora is the best choice ... always tell them what u want , show pictures of any bride if u have like whom u want to be made and always keep on looking in the mirror while she is doing the makeup so that anything u don't like could be changed , a friend visited 3 parlours and asked them to have bridal makeup on her in order to see how it will go with dress and finally she had to take services of some friend's friend to do the makeup beause she was not satisfied by all three.
Oh thank you for replying back! Allizwell ill keep that in mind and when it get closer ill def email you..
Stoppit i think it might be a good idea to shop from lahore or isl because there is much more variety in lahore and isl i guesss.. and yeah Allenora seems the one everyone likes. Quite a few of my friends have had their wedding or nikkah makeup done by Allenora and it seems to be the same makeup she does on everyone and cakes on the foundation lol. Well i just hope they learn a few new things sooon and catches up to lahore and isl makeup.
Imania yes ive been to Hussain Agahi before i think i did have a suit made from there tooo so i think ill defo go there again.. And yes i really likeee vaneeza's outfit too she looks amazing.. Yeah i think Allenora is around about the only decent parlour in Multan i guess so ill defo keep that in mind.
I think most of the wedding shopping will either be in lahore or islamabad.. does anyone know of any new designers for bridal wear who are a bit cheaper than most designers.. we have been recommended rani emaan but i want to know if there are any other ones similar to rani emaan in isl or lahoree.. hmmmmm lol..
Thank you girlies for replying! You guys really helped me out! Thank you!
well there are 2-3 designers in multan too. One is Farhat Azhar in cantt and other is Samina Durrani , bosan road. i really like samina durrani's work. other than that, my friend got her dresses from circle, isb. they were too cool. 1 was lehnga and other was shalwar qameez. u should contact more people if anyone can give u details of some designer friend because mostly they concentrate only if u go there by reference. offcourse, great designers are not that affordable , phir un k kapray are not like wearable again. so u can change as per ur budget.anyone at PSFD? I think if u get long shirt or a well length shirt on lehnga, u can have a shalwar made afterwardswith it to wear on functions. keep heavy work on shirt and simple lehnga and dupatta. Maheen of Karma was giving this advice to some friend when i heard.
hehehe paindoos are all over. It just depends on ur luck. if u r too frank with ur inlaws , show them some dress pic u want but really liked Samina Durrani's work but still that was what she did for some family friend of hers so don't know what she might turn a dress of someone with no reference, u know i have seen this philosophy with so many designers and artists that i doubt everyone.
ooo thank you for the replies ladies really appriciate it :D
@Imania: Ooo i havent heard of these designers but ill definatly remember their names.. do u have any pics of their work so that i can get an idea??? If you do then that would be great. And yeah having a long shirt with a lehnga is a good idea my cousin did that too she had her bridal from Rani Emaan and she had a really heavy open shirt type kamise with a light lehnga and the designer gave her trousers with it aswell so she can wear that afterwards..
Hahaha @ paindooo clothess... it all depends on a persons taste some people have good taste and some people dont have very good tasteee..

yar i second that I have seen that with many designers actually. You need to be acquainted with them to get the best of their work. And hell yes paindoos are everywhere:(
I dont know if this is the right thread....
But I,ve just started a new venture..it's helping girls from out of pakistan do their wedding shopping in pakistan...
the bride comes to pakistan does the shopping herself..with me her guide/friend and gets to go to shops she wants to go to and not what the relatives dictate...
as most girls are on limited time frames they chose and I collect and ship thr stuff wen ready..
clothes,cards,bidh..etc ..basically taking the crummy headache out of thr hand giving them the fun of shopping without the aftermath of collection tension, proof reading the cards etc...
well I remember that beautician Farah when i saw some family friend of hers as well as mine in silver jora, a kind of different combination in those days, she did excellent makeup on her. and when i recommended someone to that parlour based on that girl (because cosmos those days were doing all white), Farah just didn't work well. Although the girl to whom i recommended Farah's was wearing simple combination of pink, us ka makeup tou kuch creative hona chahiye tha yar but what happened was as the lady was too fair, Farah applied the maximum fair base (yar she could have given her the natural look by applying same shade or one tone below towards dark) --- didn't even think of groom ;u know its a good pic if they both are kind of natural, not if groom is natural and wife is made like zombie; ok and then according to bride , she was putting some yellow eye color on lid which bride has to ask to stop , so there was nothing special on face just pink lipstick, pink blushon and pink eyeshade, as far as i can remember, Farah might have given her eye lids a tinge of blue or smoky as her lehnga border was dark blue. So References Matter.

Oh im sorry to hear that. I hope you are okay and getting through it all. Thank you very much for your sugguestions. I will go to those places for sure!
One tip for all: do have the dresses made for formal occasions of proper length. don't go for too short or too long. because u don't wear them on a regular basis on functions of one season and then the next year , the fashion changes
