Wedding shopping in Karachi

Hey everyone.
I’m getting married in spring next year.
As I have family living in Karachi, I wanna go there for my wedding shopping.
Can anyone recommend either a good karigar in Karachi with reasonable price?
Or should I go for a readymade lehgna, with kaam on but that only needs stiching?
Please write you recommendations.
Also recommend and good place to buy artificial or gold jewellery.
Thanks!!

Re: Wedding shopping in Karachi

Congratulations Laila for your wedding

Contact Syeda, she has excellent karigars and quite low price as compared to market, she is running her own brands will show you bridal dresses in a home studio in Karachi, ready to stitch which have kaam on them would be better I guess but if you have time you can ask them to make something specially for you, ask them about matching jewelry too.

If you need to buy few, I suggest buy one for now and if you are happy with that go for bridal and all.

Re: Wedding shopping in Karachi

Here's my experience:

I just came back from Karachi 2-3 weeks ago to do wedding shopping for myself as well! I highly recommend getting a ready-made suit that just needs stitching (if you come across something you like, that is) because it will save you a lot of time! I didn't go on the custom made option because I know not many people actually make it on time. I've read and heard many horror stories so I never took the risk haha. Although, if you are going there for enough time (2 months at least), custom made could totally be done. I was there for a month and a half, and I was told by many stores that that isn't enough time to custom make it. Some said it could be done, but again I didn't want to risk it. Nor did I want to get into the hassle of getting it shipped to me later on. I wanted to take it with me. Therefore, sorry! I can't name specific karigars, since I didn't go on that option.

That being said, Tariq road is the best place to go and search initially. They have literally everything there that you can think of. There are wedding shops there in an entire line, both sides of the street. You can also find shoes/heels there (I found Regal to have the best designs). Dolmen mall is there as well, so if you ever get tired you can always go in there and grab something to eat/drink, sit down, go to the washrooms, etc. I found my ready-made bridal at Mahjabeens. But there's many stores at Tariq road that have options, as well as custom. Inside Dolmen mall, there is a store entirely dedicated to clutches as well, somewhere on the lower floors. I got some from there, and some from Stylo.

For jewellery and chooriyan, Tariq centre is the best. It is just up the street from Tariq Road, you can even walk there. That's what my mom and I did. Do give the jewellery guys time as well to get the jewellery made because again, not everyone lives up to their word. Jewellery guy told us my jewellery would be ready in 4-5 days, and it probably took 2-3 weeks for us to get it from him. So do keep time margins for everything! Good thing about shopping around Tariq Road and Tariq Centre is that you literally just have to go to one area and you'll get all your shopping done! Both bridal and formals, as well as accessories, jewellery and shoes, and more. Since you've family living there, I'm sure they must know the places to go! Esp aside from Tariq Road and Centre.

Congrats and goodluck!
