Wedding Shopping in Islamabad/Rawalpindi

if you go to fashion ka ghar in rawalpindi they are good and on the same road there are alot of shops for bridal dresses some are expensive and some are cheap but you have to bargain alot  they will give you price for a lehnga around 50000 rupees and trust me if you are a good bargainer you can easily bring them down to 30000 but yeh you have to be really stubborn and patience to argue with them other wise they charge you like crazy:teary1:

Re: PLEASE PLEASE HELP

If you do go to Lahore go to Ali's Bridal in Liberty, they have tons of samples of fancy suits that you could get made custom to yourself. A one stop shop if your in a rush and need 10-15 vari suits. Their work is great and designs are nice. There are a ton of jewlery shops in lahore, that shoudln't take long. I hear that Pindi has nice jewelry as well so tell your relatives to take you to some good gold shops. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Muree Road and Sarafa Baraz for jewerllery in Rawalpindi.
Chandni Chowk and Qila baraz for kaam wakay clothes in Rawalpindi suppose to be good. There are few stores in Islamabad but they don't have that much variety. There are lots of shops and ready made kaam walay clothes on those places i mentioned above. Good Luck on your shopping.

Re: PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Fashion ka ghar is the only place I liked on Muree road, they have good stuff and if you talk nicely they can make your stuff in hours. I got mine made in 4 hours, five party dresses :o) There are 5-6 other shops around fashion ka ghar. You can also ask them about good jewellery shops, they told me about one, which I forgot.

I would stick with one place and ask them to do everything for me AND get a nice discount since you'll be buying so much from them.

Moti bazar is supposed to be good for jewellery, but I havent been there. I've been to Jinnah super though, which has some really good gold shops.

Good Luck.

Re: PLEASE PLEASE HELP

yeh definatley Jinnah super for gold saw lots of goldd there it was amazing . dont know about clothes. pindi is supposed to have good clothes shops.

other wise in lahore u can go to anarkali and liberty for kaam walay suit.

fortress for ready made suits

good luck

Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

Hi ladies,

I am leaving to Pakistan in a few weeks and wondering if anyone knows where in Pindi/Islamabad can i go to get a Bridal Lengha that's ready made, but decent/elegant. My friend is getting married here and requested me to get her a lengha for her wedding. Nothing over the top fancy, as she is Guyanese but Hindu religion, and she decided to wear something 'Indian' for her wedding as opposed to a white wedding gown.

I am only going to be in Pindi for 3 weeks total so not enough to have it stitched for her. She needs something elegant but decent, nothing gaudy...im thinking more like the type of lengha a desi girl would wear to her bro/sis wedding. Please help.

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

it depends on ur budget. if ur range is around more than 50K rupees then u can check on murree road for that kind of stuff. they have variety of bridal wears and they will take around 1 hour to stitch. u can also check Sadar. the third option is Qila (moti bazar) there u can find all kinds of dresses cheap and expansive as well. but u have to take good care of the material and work.

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

Hey!
Sadar has a lot of boutiques and so does moti bazar. Theres one street in moti bazar itself that has a lot of really nice/elegant wedding dresses...you just have to walk around and find them.

Good Luck! =)

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

Yeah but those are all big bazaars, can you tell me a few specific stores maybe where I will be able to find an outfit...quickly.

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

purana Qila...i think its moti bazaar...tons of lenghas there....i cant remember the stores names..but theres a bunch of them....

like someone said...muree road...fashion ka ghar, malik boutique, aisha boutique, mohsin and sons...again, lots of stores in that area

i dont know about sadar..i didnt see any bridal lenghas there.

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

Hi.. Im new on this board.... :)

I just came back from Pindi for my wedding shopping recently, my observations/ places you should check out:

*The Mohsin and Sons and shops on Chandani Chowk are great on Muree Road as well if you want quick one stop look, dont go to the Mohsin and Sons in moti baazar. They are so rude and its the same stuff as the one on Muree Road.

*There is also Fashion Ka Ghar as well on Muree Road. Fashion Ka Ghar and Mohsins has comparable dresses.

*there is Bin Chirag in Sadaar, comparable to Mohsin and Sons and Fashion Ka Ghar.

*moti baazar is cheaper, but not that much, and there is a difference in quality between there and the shops in Sadar and Chandani Chowk, from what I saw.

That was my synopsis. Also a better time to shop? Probably hot during the day like zuhur time but LOTS less rush, night time is terrible, as you probably know by now.

I got my wedding dress from Zardozi... they also have a botique in Sadar...
they are expensive but beautiful and unique bridals... I fell in love :) ..Mine was made in the Lahore studio and then sent to Pindi, but I know they have Ready Made Bridals as well that they can just alter on the spot since they have a taylor there if you know the girl's measurements.

I hope that helps! I was only there for 6 days and I got my outfits ordered... it IS doable but not easy!

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

Oh yea just to clarify... I was there 6 days, and got everything picked out. My mom was there longer and she brought back all the important stuff :)

Just stick with ready made bridals and you will be fine!

Re: Ready Made Lengha - Islamabad/Pindi

i would go to Saadia Mirza !!!

wedding shopping in isb/pindi

Hi guys,

Im going to pakistan in december for my wedding shopping for 3 weeks. There's lots of threads on shopping in lahore/ karachi and not many about rawalpindi/islamabad.
If anyone knows good places to get a ready made lehnga and ready made clothes please share the info! :)
Are the ready made lehngas nice? or is it just the designer ones? has any one had a design copied?
thanks!!
