Wedding shoppin'

its a question for Whoever went to Pakistan to get married there…

wat did u guys shop for before leaving for Pakistan?..i mean in terms of wedding shopping…

Re: Wedding shoppin'

and has anyone taken a dual voltage straightner to pak....I m considerin' buying one and use it there...would it be worth spendin the money or can we get nice onez back home?

Re: Wedding shoppin'

Well, I didn't do my own shopping in pak but from here I bought mostly lingerie and makeup, a pair of heels and a nice winter coat (since wedding was in january and it'd be cold)..And as for a straightener, I think it depends on how long u will stay there... I got mine from some shop for less than 1000 Rs, but it wasn't that great, i liked my blow-dryer (conair blackbird) better.. but since Im not living there, so it dint matter much to me

Re: Wedding shoppin'

im getting shoes, bags, makeup, perfumes, lingerie n my personal use electronic stuf like dryer, epiliator, straightner, digicam from here for my use in pak..

Re: Wedding shoppin'

wat's digicam ?

Re: Wedding shoppin'

^digital camera

Re: Wedding shoppin'

I don't like the straightners there, don't work really fast (the one I had anyways) and left my hair frizzy and damaged >.>
I recommend taking your own straightner

Re: Wedding shoppin'

you can tke a straightener there , i took mine to islamabad and mine worked there. also i will be takin lingerie , make up from here (uk)

Re: Wedding shoppin'

Thanks for the replies guys ....i'll be there for 2 months before the wedding...and will fly off to uk 10 days after...so i i think i should definitely consider investing in a good straightener...

i am not sure of the company's name...but this one is almost available around all malls in Toronto ...Its a booth and they have a black one and a pink straightener...the pink one is supposedly dual voltage....has anyone tried it?

Re: Wedding shoppin'

as for the lingerie....my cousin in karachi told me that they now have a lot of variety there....is that true? or should i just get all of my stuff from here?

Re: Wedding shoppin'

i think one should ALWAYS get lingerie and make up from here(europe) bcz back home even if u buy the same brand it wont be the same thing bcz they mess about with the ingredients and use cheap ones so that they can sell at a cheaper price.
but for shoes n bags i am not SOO sure - would like to know where u can get best buy......................................................................................................
for perfumes- paris or buy during sale period n for electronic stuf like dryer, epiliator, straightner, digicam i think germany would be a better place to buy. they sell good quality electronic products on cheaper prices

Re: Wedding shoppin'

True Ceremic straighteners are really important and better for your hair...i'd get a good quality one you can always buy a transformer for use.

You can get cute shoes/party purses in Pakistan but they are inexpensive...and not super comfortable. I'd do the lingerie...makeup/perfumes/lotions other cosmetics from your western country.

Re: Wedding shoppin'

oh and if you're in CAnada/US it is MUCH much cheaper to buy in there NOT in Dubai or Europe...even duty free!

Re: Wedding shoppin'

i bought EVERYTHING from here...and i mean everything!!!..didnt go to a bazar once....my mom did all the shopping...the only time i went out was to get the fabric for my wedding dress dyed the right shade...thats it....

Re: Wedding shoppin'

Alishaht..
Congrats first and foremost! secondly.. those straighteners that at sold at those booths that are black and pink are worth the money!! theres some straightners sold at Shoppers Drug Mart now that are by CONAIR and are worth abt $80 plus tax that are the same kind.. look for ceramic ones.. those are the best!! other than that the list u have for items to take with u looks abt fine.. Goodluck!
