Wedding rings for men

What type of ring did you give your husband when you got married? I know in Islam its forbidden for men to wear gold, so which other options are there?

Re: Wedding rings for men

platinum, silver, rhodium, tungsten, steel. so many options and choices!

Re: Wedding rings for men

Funny you ask that, I'm shopping around for my finace's ring currently! And I'm still having a hard time deciding on a metal. There's quite a few out there, but keep in mind that some metals cannot be resized or cut through in case of emergencies!

Options are plenty though. As previously mentioned, platinum, silver, tungsten, steel. There's also palladium, ceramic, titanium, zirconium, cobalt, tantalum, and god knows what else.

Re: Wedding rings for men

I am leaning towards platinum or titanium coz they seem durable. Have seen some nice silver rings as well, will silver look too cheap?

Re: Wedding rings for men

Silver won't look cheap, it's a good alternative if you want a white metal. But silver is a soft metal. So wear and tear will show quite easily on it. Between platinum and titanium, I'd say platinum would be better because some jewellers do not resize titanium rings, whereas you won't have that issue with platinum. But platinum is definitely more expensive, even more expensive than white gold. So there's advantages and disadvantages to each metal. Choose whichever one that works best for you guys!

Re: Wedding rings for men

thanks for the help :) have you decided on a ring yet?

Re: Wedding rings for men

Ask him to get a tattoo, rings can be taken off easily. I lost my gold ring, i will compensate with a tattoo as proof of ownership.

Re: Wedding rings for men

what if he does not like tattoo? I don't like ink on my body either

Re: Wedding rings for men

I didn't either but lately I have been thinking about it, now that I am certain that there will be no one else.

Re: Wedding rings for men

I like white gold, I'm not sure if Islamic ruling re men wearing gold extends to white gold too, Its a matter of how you interpret things. Titanium is also good, silver wears off very easily and can be abraded with water or mild friction.

Re: Wedding rings for men

No problem! Hope you find the perfect ring :) I still have 4 months till the wedding, I got time haha. But I do think I'm leaning more towards titanium. It's easier on the wallet than platinum, and also the lightest. I don't want to get a heavy weighing metal. And it's more scratch proof than platinum or silver! So let's see
