We’re thinking of organizing a Wedding Reception Event in Karachi. As we’re not based in Pakistan we’re unaware of all the in’s and out’s of Karachi in particular.
Someone suggested the Marina Club (Area 1) however we’re not sure if the area is indeed an ideal location to host a wedding reception.
Can anyone please provide some information on what the Marina Club Area 1 area is like? In addition if anyone can provide any information on ideal venue locations(with catering, decorations, photographers, videographers etc) we would really be grateful. Are there any reliable wedding planners out there places we can contact.
All in all we do want something special and well organised!!
Any ideas on how much a wedding reception venue on average costs? Furthermore, any suggestions on bridal wear boutiques, jewelers etc. A one off designer dress would be nice as it would be something unique so if anyone has any information on some elegant stylish boutiques and an idea on the price range please do let us know.

Angel - you should have relatives to take care of such things for you in Pak otherwise you’ll have to make a trip to Pak to get everything set up in advance. It’s not like here where you can call and they’ll reserve the place for you just out of sheer goodwill and trust

Unfortunately, I don't have much family there who can help in such matters!! It's mostly older folks and the younger one's are more spread out through the globe however for the reception we thought it would be nice to have it in Karachi and have everyone meet up at one place.
Surely, there must be some wedding planner, hotel who can assist? Do you recommend any? Do you have any ideas on how the Marina area is like?
Any info you can provide would help.

For the hair & makeup is there any beautician/hairdresser you recommend? I would like someone who is reliable and preferably know's what they are doing!! I don't mind spending the extra cash so long as there are no surprises on the actual day!!
My mehndi was at the Creek Club in Defense. The wedding reception was in the Karachi Sheraton. Both venues were really lovely and I highly recommend them.
