Hey guys,
So my wedding is in July iA and I need help with the wedding program. I’m clueless about how to begin, what the hosts are supposed to say, the timing of it all, how to stretch the program into dinner and not boring everyone to death. Please please help me with your ideas. My cousin will be hosting, hopefully along with another male cousin but we have no clue as to what they’re supposed to say or do! Ideas, ideas please!

Most desi weddings start out with a recitation of the Quran.
So the hosts should come and just be like please be seated we'd like to start off the program with the recitation of the holy quran by so and so. After the quran sometimes they have a translation so people can understand what was read. The ayahs can pertain to marriage or can be a short surah or part of a long surah.
Then usually the hosts introduce themselves and explain how they are related to the bride and groom. they can talk for a little while about the wedding or the couple or whatever, they cal also thank out of town guests and the banquet hall workers.. the hosts r supposed to be comic relief but make sure they stay appropriate!
Then its usually dinner and speeches are done after.
Speeches are usually done by close family and friends--siblings, parents, best friends, cousins.
You want some emotional speeches but you also want some funny ones or else the audience just gets bored!!! The hosts are just supposed to introduce each speaker and make sure the program runs smoothly.
Sometimes there's a slideshow of pictures which is always cute if done well! You can also play some small games. Like a trivia quiz between the bride and groom about each other..its always fun to watch!
Lastly theres like closing statements done by the groom, thanking everyone for coming and how happy he is to get such a wonderful wife and for everyone to keep the couple in their prayers etc etc. thank the hosts and both families!
