Wedding present

A colleague recently got married. We don’t really know what to buy for her. There’s 3 of us who want to buy her something nice. Also keeping in mind her husband is not here yet so it can’t be anything for their home. Suggest some ideas please

Re: Wedding present

you can buy here any piece of jewelry .. pendant etc . gold is the best gift for weddings for a girl

Re: Wedding present

yea, PJ is right, a gold can be one of the best gifts for a girl, yet you can also buy her some expensive ready-made clothes!!

Re: Wedding present

Why can't you give something for the house? If the husband is not here "yet", that means that he will be back at some point in time, right? Because then you can still give something for the house because they always come to be very useful. Personally, for wedding presents, I prefer to give something that benefits both the couple rather than something very gender specific.

Or do you mean that your colleague will move wherever her husband is now? In that case, not getting anything for their home is a good idea.

Unless the colleague in question is very close to you, I don't think giving gold is a good idea (especially keeping in mind the rising price of gold). You could always just give a gift certificate to a good store and she can buy whatever she wants with that.

Re: Wedding present

Vouchers for a department store?
Otherwise something like a nice, ornate mirror or jewellery box. Or even vouchers for a spa or something :/

Re: Wedding present

Choosing a gift is a big headache things

Re: Wedding present

Vouchers are the best! My close friends got me a homemade scrapbook/photo album and house of fraser vouchers! :)

Re: Wedding present

i would never buy a coworker gold jewelry! people usually give that when a family member is getting married....
since its 3 of you who need to give her something, you can pool a nice amount of money together and get her a gift card to a nice home furnishing store and she can use it when her husband comes. people always appreciate cash/gift cards because they have to freedom to get what they like

Re: Wedding present

A salon gift card

Re: Wedding present

She isn't registered anywhere? Registries make life easier for the guests.

If not, it depends on how close you are to this girl. If she's just a colleague but you're not really close then a gift card should work just fine.

If she is a good friend, I'd get her something more personal. Things you know she likes.
