I am going to be getting married in 3 months time and am now preparing for the mendhi and shaadi. I want to do something different and exciting but on a low budget as I am already forking out alot on the venue. I know that other than what the hotel is providing me with I could use some cost effective ways to make it more exciting. Any good ideas? Or any recommendations of make up artists, photographers or videographers? Any advice is welcome
Make up- Fabiola or Allenora. DONT EVER GO 2 MUSHKBAR, they do arabic style makeup and they will make u look like a witch, it happened to a friend of mine.
Photography/ video- Digital eye studio
Baraat Venue- JW Mariott is the best i think cost wise and their ballrooms are gorgeous.
DrSara - I've managed to choose a venue but for the shaadi, I will need to book a villa for a week for the family (3-4 bedroom in Dubai), was thinking of doing the mehndi there. Does anybody know of any villas for rent?
Gina - Do u think this kinda stuff will be cheaper if I get it from Karachi? Someone suggested hiring this type of stuff..... what do u think?
I am doing the same thing. I have rented a 5 bed villa and having my ubtan and mehndi there and the wedding outside.
You can check dubaishortstay dot com or dubizzle dot com (short term rentals)
You can get some cheap wedding decorators in sharjah who will decorate ur wedding in any theme you want
I will be starting my own wedding coordinating services by september (officially) but you are welcome to contact me for any info in the mean time :)
good luck
I didn't really like decorators and stuff they had in Sharjah, although the fabrics you can get there for covers/cushions etc. are really nice. So are the laces, zari borders etc.

Xtremist - Thanks for the tips, very helpful. At the moment I need all the luck I can get.lol So when are u getting married? Also where did u manage to find the 5 BR villa? Thanks for offering your help...... but u might want to take it back because I am full of questions.lol :)
Ajay - Thanks for your link but unfortunately there are no pictures or videos on it. Could you please send me this information along with your price list so I can take a look. Thanks
there is a wedding organisers' market in sharjah, not all of them will suit ur budget or temperament however there is one called "Al Mawkib" that organises everything from decor to stages to photography and video! i compared their prices with the rest of the market and was pretty satisfied, their number is : 050-7277397, 050-6385005
If you are looking for a reasonable venue for mehndi or other such occassions, then find out the rates for Asia Palace restraurant in Sharjah, they provide halls for such events and are reasonable too, depending on your guest list, it cud probably turn out cheaper than renting a 5 bedroom villa.
As for make up, there is Janie Liang who charges 1800, Allenora for 2500 and freelancers like Ghazala Mir (3000 for baraat, 2500 for valima) and Tani (4000 for 3 days). lemme know if interested, will pm you their details!
You are gona kill me ..... I havent gotten round to using this website just yet and cant seem to find your last email. Could you please resend it..... I'm soooo sorry.
Xtremist - I needed you help with regards to entertainers, and vendors for favours. Would you be able to send me your personal email id? I tried to PM u but apparently I haven't posted enough posts. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks
