well its a hindu tradition (as the entire mhendi ceremony is). i didnt know anyhting about it before...but it is usually made with dry spices....i think after the women harvest them they make colorful rangoli and dance around it.
i wanted color so i asked my frnd to get me some vibrant color dry floral arrangements. they are easy to place and they are light weighted. whereas pulses and spices are heavy and also not that vibrant.
