Wedding Outfits for the Bhabi

I need some ideas for wedding outfits for my youngest BIL’s marriage. He’s the last to get married, so the wedding is a little OTT. I am arriving two days before the first function, so everything needs to be done well in advance. I’ve also lost quite a bit of weight recently :-). I am the eldest bhabi, and I am pushing 40, so nothing too ‘young’, but I would like some variety on the typical SK or sari. Please post pics if you have any. I would also love to see some pics of ideas for my oldest girls - they are 15 and 13. My nand has an interesting habit of selecting colors and fits that REALLY don’t suit me, so I am having my own clothes made this time.

Re: Wedding Outfits for the Bhabi

Well firstly many many congrats on losing that weight. How did you do it?

Will look for pics for you. What is your skin complexion by the way? I know what colours suit my skin you see.

A classical "angharka" would look fantastic.. and the color depends on u're complexion. Dark, stone-colors are IN though :)

Thanks :-) - changed my eating habits (cut waaay back on the desi food), switched completely to olive oil, and started running. I now run at least 3 miles a day....

I love jewel tones... they usually suit me. I am a brunette and fairly light skinned, so bright colors look best on me, but I don't want to look like I'm trying to be 20, either.

Do you have any pics of an angharka? Are those the wrap-style dresses - if so they are beautiful.

Thanks again ladies :)

Amana I'd love to c pics of u!

It’s always the desi food that has to go first, isn’t it? :teary1: I cut down drastically on desi food for daily meals, eating mainly veggie meals and watching all my calories and carbs, and I lost 10 lbs. Spent the last 2 months (holidays) eating hot, delicious, comfy desi foods daily… and gained all the 10 lbs back!! sigh Guess I’ll just have to exercise now.

Moving on… I saw this suit that I think would look really cool and modern as a sharara… the jacket especially looked soo fab. Here it is:

^ love that! Skirt has a tad bit too much ghaiyr for my taste though.

Yes, it is a shirt that overlaps at the top..looks really elegant worn with a churidaar.. colors like plum, burnt orange, wine and emerald green will look gorgeous! Antique metal work is in too.. and it isn't gaudy.. very subtle and pretty!

thats pretty!
