My wedding jewellery is rotting in the boxes and I don’t even wear them cos they are too big for every day wear, even for party one set is just too huge.
So the question is what can I do:
My choorian are a bit tight, so my hand gets red and hurts everytime I try them on, I have a kind of a tumb bone sticking out and that makes the churrian set too huge and not so nice, I was thinking of changing for choorian that you can open and close, have u ever seen such a style ? Maybe exchange for two kharras
Second one big set has deep purple beads, I am thinking of making the set smaller, cutting off one layer and changing the beeds to some real stone, what do u think, should I change my shadi set ??
The one from my in-laws is just too simple and I want to get it up to dated, do u think it will annoy my MIL? I might ask her if she has any objections, which I dont think she will, but better to ask before the harm is done.
So pls give me suggestions, should I just let them sit in the boxes just cos thats how I wore them on my shadi or do some adjustment? I could buy more sets and donot change these but giving zakat for these is enough to think aobout this option, so what would u have done girls?
Re: wedding jewellery dilemma
Yeah ask her, but if u don't like it and u won't wear it..faida kya dena aur rakhna? its stlil better to get it made to ur choice... I plan on changing/exchanging some of my stuff too but that's too far into the future (my karay are too tight too) so i'm not worried about that right now but ill e paying attention here :@:
Re: wedding jewellery dilemma
definitely get them altered- at least you would wear them more often then!
a friend of mine just did that to her wedding set- she removed all the red beads from it and the saharey part of the earrings and so now she has a lovely all-gold set that she can wear whenever she wants, with whatever she wants.
Re: wedding jewellery dilemma
SGC, when I got my set, it had gold beads, they replaced it with lila/purple ones, but those beads could be set again or even crystals, so its worn to parties or weddings.
Now I found a set in the bridal post that looks somehow like mines:

but my earlings are round traditional shaped, the necklace is quite the same.
My concern is that if later my daughter asks me, mom can I see your shadi set/choorian, it will not be the same, if I change my choorian for something. I remember looking at my mom’s jewellery.
??
Okay I will make a decision, this time when I am pakistan.
