Wedding in Quetta (DESPERATELY NEED HELP)

Hey guys,

i am new to this forum but it seems like you guys are A LOT of help. I don’t live in Pakistan but we will be holding my brothers (2 of them) wedding in Quetta, Pakistan. i have tried researching online but Quetta seems to have NOTHING from what google tells me and i was hoping there will be some Quetta residents on here that can help me with the planning of my brothers wedding.

1-Hall (wedding will be end of january, so something indoors because it will be freezing cold)
2- photographer and videographer (i am very worried about this one).
3- decorations (for mehndi and nikkah)
4- MAKE UP ARTIST!!

any referrals with pictures & prices if possible!

i would truly appreciate itt!!

p.s! if you have no idea about anything to do what Quetta! and have any other suggestions then do let me know!!

i know NOTHING about weddings!!!

Hey!

Quetta, well not too many halls there. You have CityHall, which is clean and neat, but not on the larger scale. It's close to Samungli area of Quetta. then you have Quetta Club (Cantt), where you can have a nice outdoor wedding if wanted. But the best option, is definately Quetta Serena Hotel. I had my nikkah there, and it was lovely.

Decoration, well Serena works with a few flower/decoration people, and can contact them on your behalf. It's not too expencive in Quetta, with the decoration and all, but on the other hand, it's not too gorgeous either.

I had a photographer from Jinnah Road area, don't remember his name. BUT! We spent hours at the studio editing the photos with him and all. They came out good, as we were very clear on what we wanted. If you want amazing pictures in Quetta, you'll have to fly in a photographer from the larger cities; Lahore, Islamabad etc.

MakeUp artist; No one! They have a tiny miny depilex parlour, which is ok. Not bad, not too good, just ok. I got a friend to do my make up (she's an artist).

do u have any pictures of the serena hotel hall? That is what my dad suggested as well and do know approx how much it cost for ur nikkah? The capacity is 250 and that is probably the amount that we will have.

Also, if u could find out the photographers name then I would truly appreciate it because the only one I know of is Kareem videos and he SUCKS!!!

As for makeup... Have u heard of Rida? Is dipilex better?

Yeah I do have a few pictures! Just pm me your email adress? I'll email them to you inshAllah. We had around 200 guests, and payed around 220000 rupees + a little more for decoration. I think its pricier actually, but that we got it cheaper cause we had a reference. Not sure though! Why don't you send them an email? The gentleman whos' incharge for events and all (don't remember his name!), is helpful and extreamly nice.

I just checked with a cousin of mine, the photographer we had was a friend of his. But he gone abroad for studies now :P But a friend of mine had classic digital from Art School Road at their wedding, they took nice pictures, overall! But, the shoot photos, they have a tendency to photoshop stupid backgrounds in 'em. So for the shoot, I'd advice you to take the shoot pictures in the gardens of serena. It's beautiful, and you won't be needing to change the background when editing the pictures. The moviemaking, well that might suck in Quetta. They do horrible editing, with ugly songs. I got the mastercopy from the movie people, and edited it myself. Turned out good :)

Have seen a few Rida brides, they have a lot of glittery things on their face, lol. I find depilex better though...not that it's very very good! But Rida is a good number two. I'll send you a few pics if you want, of both Rida and Depilex brides?

i am so glad to know there are gardens because i prefer pictures in normal backgrounds!!! one of my cousins is floating in a blue sky in her nikkah picture (credits of kareem video). it is ridiculously ugly!!! i think i will do the same...give the master copy to someone in Karachi to edit. i am willing to pay the extra as long as they turn out nice! this is the first wedding in our family and i am really excited but nervous!
i know exactly what you mean about Rida, a makeup artist should ENHANCE your beauty...not alter faces to what she considers beautiful.

Hey there! I can totally understand you as i was in a similar situation few months back when i had not visited quetta in 6 long years. I believe this thread should be all about vendors in quetta as there are very few or almost none.

So here you go:

Beauty parlor no particular order:
1) Rida - 15,000 Rs. just for make up. Rating: Very good if you provide guidance along
2) Depilex - 20,000 a full bridal package including makeup, facial, jewellery and dubatta setting, manicure pedicure, hairstyle and threading. Rating personal option for my wedding
3) Naheed - Have seen brides and they seem to look great at low cost....dont have further details.

Venue:

1) City Hall - Clean, good food but for max 300 people. Rating: Good
2) Quetta Serena Hotel - The name is enough:-p but people have issues with the food over there so you have to be very particular in specifying how spicy, how thick, how creamy etc. ! Price: starts from 1200rs for 2 main course.
3)Milan Hall: Had a relatives wedding over there. This place would be my second option if finance is a problem. But dont expect anything classy over here expect the outer look.
4)Quetta Club: Lawn but not an option if your wedding is in Jan lol

Photographer:

BOOK WSSA NOW! they are amazing and agree to travel to Quetta at affordablerates :-)

Decorations:

Haha such a thing does not exist in Quetta.....Traditional looks are given more value. I suggest select different flowers and break your head with the decorator explaining what you need. But if you chose serena then leave it up to them by showing them a picture of what you need.

I’m very sorry but cant share any picture because Quetta has a veryconservative environment.

Now a small suggestion on what to select for your event to make it amazing:

1) Quetta Serena Hotel
2) Depilex
3) WSSA as your photographer * they don’t cover videographer and hire a local*
4) Decoration leave it up to Serena * Contact Mr. Iftikhar at serena as he canguide you perfectly*

yay! thank you so much for responding! i really appreciate it!

Makeup: i am definitely excited to check out depilex as i have only heard/know of RIDA.

Venue: is city hall indoor? we have pretty much decided on serena hotel but they, however i think we need a place with bigger capacity for the mehndi =

Photography: i already send WSSA an email, but they still have not responded. so still waiting for them to contact me.

Decorations: i have some pictures of things that we want and i have selected as SIMPLE as possible, even a quetta decorator should be able to pull that off. i am mainly concerned about finding a nice sofa, my aunt told me i should be able to rent one from the furniture ppl if the decor pp don't have one.

and i will def remember Mr. Iftikhar! =D

Yes Quetta does have DJ's and if you book with Serena then they can guide youaccordingly as I personally don’t know anyone.

About City Hall: yes its indoor and most probably they have heating system. Maxit can accommodate = 300 pax

Serena can accommodate upto 1000 pax

As Palz said above, Serena can provide you both DJ and band. We had a rubab player in the background, and a little tabla, with mellow, beautiful traditional music. Then we had a DJ who played a few songs (entrance, attan music etc.) As far as I know, the main hall in Serena is not huge enough to room around 1000 people. For that they also arrange an outdoor setting.

City hall is nice and clean! Very nice for mehndi etc. :)
