Wedding in Mirpur: Need advice!!

Hi all,

I am getting married in October this year :wub: in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir and have so far sorted out most of the details but I am having a real problem with finding a good Wedding cake provider, where the cake actually tastes like cake (if you know what I mean??) as the ones I have tasted…ermmm…well they’re not like any cakes I’ve ever tasted and thats not in a good way!!! :confused:

If anyone could give me any tips on where I could go to find THE best wedding cake, I would be most grateful!

Weddings in Mirpur? Best and worst?

Hey all!

I am getting married in Mirpur, AZK this October and would like to hear from anyone who has got married or is planning to get married there also! How are your wedding plans coming along/how did it all go and just any general advice on how I can make it a special day!

If you know of any good suppliers, entertainment, decorators etc I would be very grateful!

My wedding day is being held at The Hilton, just outside Mirpur on the road to Mangla. Its very big and beautiful. Apparently it was a mill of some sort and has been convertated into a wedding venue in the past few years! Never thought i'd be able to find something so pretty and nice in terms of a venue so just now need all the other bits to fall into place!

Anyone know of any good and modern photographers in Mirpur? I have managed to find one in Lahore and is pricey, but its the type of photogrpahy I want.

Hi to all Mirpuris! lol

I got married in a wee village just outside Mirpur and my biggest stress before-hand was my wedding make-up! Nobody on GS was able to help so i just had to put a massive leap of faith and book someone from the city.

alhamdullilah the lady i booked was fantastic!!! Her beauty parlour is called Royal Beauty Palour and i cant remeber what her name is but she was so good and her make-up wasnt the typical pakistani type at all.

i really would recommend her to anyone who is getting married out there and will post some pics for anyone who is interested...

What does wedding cake that doesn't taste like cake taste like?

I think she means it tastes disgusting compared to cakes from here in the UK. The cream doesn't taste like the cream here.
