u hav to choose frm different menu starting frm Rs. 800 to 1200 per person (doesnt include drinks/tea/coffee) ... then u just hav to pay for stage decor which u can choose frm their album or u can hav ur own .... plus they all give complimentary night stay nd breakfast for the bride nd groom .. PC or regent plaza is a better option coz marriott nd sheraton r offering one dish only .... in PC u can hav it in ballroom or in marquees ..
Any personal experiences of attending a function at PC or regent plaza.
Does anybody have information on Ramada plaza and Carlton in karachi?
I had my wedding at Ramada Plaza and it was the best as it's my dad's hotel. My aunt had her wedding at Carlton 3 yrs ago during the summer. It was one of the worst weddings I went to. There were those bugs that come out after rain in khi, and she wanted open-air, no tent at the event, so it was in their lawn and those bugs were just swarming everywhere! The tables were completely black, covered with those bugs. As long as you aren't doing it in that weather, I think Carlton is a pretty good venue.
I'm not trying to promote Ramada but if anyone is considering doing their mehdni, shaadi or any other event outdoors you should definitely go check out the poolside at Ramada. I've been to all the upscale hotels in KHI, and no one's poolside compares to Ramada's! Also, the food there is amazing. The chefs are awesome. Not only do you get great food at the wedding but room service, restaurants, etc definitely have the best food from other hotels I've tried.
A week before my own wedding, which was 3 months ago, I attended a friends wedding in Regent Plaza. I definitely love the high ceilings they've got there but that's pretty much it. There was nothing special about it and I didn't stay to have dinner since the baraat got there at 12:45 a.m.! So i can't say much for the food. Oh yeh, and the friend's photo session was going on in one of the room's and the room was pretty horrible also with paint chipping off. The friend and her husband didn't even stay in that hotel that night even though the room was complimentary, they went to Marriott.
I went to another aunt's wedding at Marriott. The food was very good, the preparations were very good. But her wedding was about 10 years ago so maybe that's not pertinent but I can't imagine marriott not being good even today.
sumorani...
dont want to put u on the spot but if u dont mind tellin us
how much would it cost per person to have the wedding at ramada..
cuz i know tht weddings at hotels get quite expensive
since we checked out prices at PC n it was pretty high....
I believe it starts at around Rs.700-800/person and goes upto Rs.2500/person and ofcourse even if 2500 doesnt do it for a client, then they can go substantially higher depending on what they want. Decor is separate. And as with all hotel weddings there, theres a complimentary hotel room for the bride and groom.
BTW there r two companies of Hanif rajput so make sure which one u want one is a lil more exp which is the old one and i believe the real one....they dont have a website
there r alot of good caterers out there
for my engagement we had caterers i think they r called tawakal wala(not sure spelling)
they r really really good
yea stylo these r the real hanif rajput really old ones n trust worthy … we have good relations with them n they cover almost all our family events …i had them on my engagement n will be having them arrange my shaadi they r too gud

I've never been to a wedding at PC.
Thanks sumorani for such a detailed reply.
but i want the function inside the hall. Open air is not an option due to chances of rain. Do ramada have good banquet halls?
can u advise Ramada charges/menu ranges per head for a maximum of 150 people with stage decor and any other charges if any inclusive of taxes?
that would serve as a good competitor to Regent.
I have heard a lot of admiration for Regent banquet halls. But i have no idea abt their bridal rooms or food.
Everybody is invited to share their experiences and comparisons about regent and ramada. I m really serious regarding finalizing any one of them within a month.
I think I wrote this somewhere else on this forum. Anyway, the charges start around Rs.700/ person and they go upto about Rs.2500, they might have changed slightly in the past 4 months cuz of rising costs. Decor is seperate and I dont know what the charges are for that.
If you click on ‘meeting room’ that will give u an idea of the banquet halls. We don’t have high ceilings like the ones at Regent but everything except that is exceptional.
I’ve already said the bridal room at Regent wasn’t good and I didn’t have their food. The best thing for you to do would be to go check out all the places you are considering before making a decision based on what people say here.
