My first cousin is getting married soon. I will not be attending the wedding but I have to send her a gift 
back in the home country. I will send $ to mom and she will buy what she has to…
Now the thing is that I personally don’t have any relationship with her, don’t know her taste or what she needs.
What do you recommend?

My mom would probably will all her jewelry to everyone, so best not to ask her

jewellery! its the easiest thing in such a situation and your mom can buy whatever works within your budget.
if not, then a nice sari or unstitched suit?
