the only reason i can think of that someone might have suggested that amount because he is the uncle....in most pakistani families....uncles/mamos/chachas/phuppos tend to give a little more
its not expected....but i see it happen quiet often....i know in my family it does
just give whatever you guys feel comfortable with...dont let anyone else call the shots
