Wedding Get Over

Nutritionist and weight control advisor with Monarch gym, Bharati Mittal advises brides and grooms and how to plan a D-day free of acne, pimple and stress.

Imagine this - the bride or the groom (despite his macho image, he too is vulnerable to stress-related acne and skin problems!) wake up on their wedding day and see a face that they do not recognise, and wish it was not theirs?

Your food and fluid intake shows on your face. The shine on your skin and the lustre in your hair is invariably due to the right food. The D-day does not have to be bad hair day for you! Follow these tips for 6 weeks and you will look and feel like a million dollars.

The ideal way to avoid this is not on the day itself - by then, it will be too late - but a few weeks in advance so that the skin shines and boosts your confidence.

  1. Drink plenty of water - 12 to 15 glasses per day.
It helps to flush out the toxins from the body.

  2. Drink plenty of fluids like fruit juices, tender
    coconut water and buttermilk.

  3. Begin your meal with a soup - at least two bowls Like tomato, carrot soup, spinach soup or mixed vegetable soup.

  4. Have fresh vegetables and salads along with your meal.

  5. Try to have 50 to 60 per cent of your food raw - like salads, sprouts and soaked almonds.

  6. Fresh fruits should be included in all meals and in-between meals. If you are fat or on the heavy side avoid the fruits which will add to your weight like chikoo, mango, grapes and go for papaya, watermelon and apples.

  7. Avoid fried, oily and processed foods - butter, cheese spreads, bread spreads - they give rise to pimples.

  8. Avoid chocolates and cakes.

  9. Most importantly - when we said drink a lot of fluids we are not (repeat NOT) talking of carbonated drinks . Avoid these - they are full of empty calories and do nothing to you.

The magic potion:
When taken for six weeks gives glow to the skin and adds lustre to the hair.

Coriander leaves, dill leaves, celery leaves and mint leaves mixed in equal amount. Add two glasses of water, blend and extract juice. Add lime and rock salt for taste.

Give yourself and your skin, time to prepare for the wedding.
