Hi all,

I just wanted to know if theres a ban on wedding food? are there any restricitons on how many dishes you can serve etc?

My fiance is planning on having 20 dishes for the walima and i just want to know if its allowed in Pakistan.

i think its allowed now in pakistan, but having 20 different dishes??? thats abit too much isnt it?

I know 20 is too much!! the dulhan doesnt even get to eat half the food! I told my fiance to make sure he gets the dishes packed for me for laters!! :)

He wants 20 dishes ranging from griills, pakistani to chinese food.

not only the dulhan but the dulhans and dulhas immediate family too :D ask me...been thru 2 weddings in my family so i know :p though i must say at times it gets hard to wait :p hehe but its worth it cuz at the end of the day you are call the most hospitable family.

Another problem with such an elaborate menu is that when you have so much to chose from you end up not even enjoying a single dish cuz you are just rushing wanting to try each n every dish instead of enjoying 5-6 dishes :).

I just found out that the Punjab government have limited it to 1 dish only!!! :(

how is that possible?????????

biryani! then you can serve sides like raita, salad, etc. to up the number of dishes.
