Have you witnessed any?
What was the reason? How did bride and groom take it.

Re: Wedding Fights
Not talking about physical fights.
Re: Wedding Fights
I’ve only seen one. It was at a friend’s cousin’s wedding, which wasn’t terribly surprising (as the bride and groom seemed to be having issues prior to the wedding). The matter they were fighting over was rather awkward.
Apparently, the bride had invited a male “friend” of hers from the past and his family to the wedding and the groom saw him and flipped out. My Punjabi is rather limited so I didn’t catch all of it but based on what they were saying, or rather yelling, at each other in English, it must have been quite colourful.
At the risk of sounding unkind and terribly judgemental, of all the places to argue, on the stage in front of all the guests? ![]()
Re: Wedding Fights
Lol, and how did they go about it.
Re: Wedding Fights
^By screaming at each other on stage until the bride's father went up there to try to calm things down. It wasn't physical or anything of that sort, but it was quite awkward, particularly some of the rather unsavoury remarks they were making to each other (and that's only the English parts).
Re: Wedding Fights
LOL, that was really immature. Why would you invite "friends" from past on your wedding and the guy could have waited till function was finished. Do u know the aftermath.
Re: Wedding Fights
^No, I don't know what happened after the wedding. However, I vaguely recall the bride storming off and leaving the reception quite early (and I mean, about an hour into the function).
Re: Wedding Fights
Nope, not actually at a wedding. But, I've witnessed pre-wedding bridezilla nastiness.

Re: Wedding Fights
I witnessed a fight on an engagement party. The bride didn't like her engagement ring and she kept telling the groom to get her another one. However, it was mostly light hearted. The groom's mom got her another ring the next morning and they are happily married.

Re: Wedding Fights
I was at a friend's wedding where things got nasty at the jhoota chupai. Our side was just messing around giving the groom a hard time and he refused to budge at all...after literally an hour of us asking for ANY money, a woman from his side came up and basically told the girls from our side to go and dance for the groom and the guys and she'd give us money. The way she said it was really...degrading and rude. And then she started yelling at a girl from our side for being "rude" to the groom, even though she did nothing of the short. The girl ended up leaving the stage in tears and the our side was really...upset because they had done our bezthi the entire time we were on stage. In the end, the guy ended up being a kanjoos jerk and the girl was a doormat about everything to the point where his family would constantly insult her family and she just took it so the marriage ended. Cant' say we were surprised.
