Wedding Favors?

I really want to give a small wedding favor to each of my guests – nothing too fancy or over the top. Usually people give a small box with hershey kisses or mints. I’ve also seen “Thank You” cards placed at each guest’s table.

I personally love these castle-shaped bookmarks I found – they’re affordable and very cute. Although I’m not sure how well liked they would be at a Pakistani wedding! I need some help! I also found very nice key-chains for an equally affordable price! I’m going with a fairytale theme, and both keychain and bookmarks have either a castle motif or a tiara. I was thinking of ordering some with the castle motif and some with a horse-shoe motif (for the male guests)

My question is, what are your favorite wedding favors to receive?

And, would a bookmark make a good wedding favor? I’ve never seen them at a wedding before.

Bookmarks is something diff i know i would be happy to recieve one as i love reading books.! Its a change from all the sweets given instead..

Re: Wedding Favors?

Bookmarks are a really good idea.. something out of the ordinary that will actually get used.. plus everytime they are used the guests will be thinking of you..

Me and my SO had been mulling over gingerbread men but will prob go for something else..

Re: Wedding Favors?

Thank you for the responses :)

Yes, exactly - I love the bookmarks idea, because I love reading myself! Although, I may go with the key-chain idea, because it's more functional for everyone. Plus, I don't know if all the brown adults at my wedding will know that the castle shaped thingy with tassles is a bookmark! lol! Even I couldn't tell, it just says under the description that it's a bookmark.

I just don't know whether I should do a functional favor instead of edibles. Edibles are always loved, but at this point, they're coming up to be a little more pricey than the key-chains/bookmarks -- the key-chains and bookmarks come in their own packages, already have tags and are at a lower cost than the edibles like chocolate or cookies (which require packaging, ribbon and tags)

Decisions, decisions...

I like the idea behind a bookmark (I'm a bookworm myself) but I think the majority of people will throw them away. Or they'll just lie at the bottom of the draw :-/
Least edible favors are eaten by most of the guests and your money isnt wasted. And you can attach a personal thank you note with a poem/verse or something.

Re: Wedding Favors?

i like both ideas, but what about giving out crown scepters as wedding favors? they're those things that princesses hold a stick with a crown on top lol. you can make them yourself or buy them in bulk for pretty cheap

Re: Wedding Favors?

My brother and his wife had small size vases filled with colorful/sweet saunf (fennel). Simple, elegant, tasty, and useful!

Re: Wedding Favors?

I like both ideas, bookmarks would work because even if you aren't a reader, ppl hold places in all sorts of places, diaries, phone books, their qurans, where else?

Key chains are functional, so they are nice, and most likely it's just a question of taste, if ppl like the way they look, they'll use them.

The thing with favours is, there's always going to be someone who doesn't want theirs, especially in a desi wedding with so many guests. Even if you give edible favours that would be the case. As an incurable bookworm, my vote goes to BOOKMARKS

Bookmarks

Re: Wedding Favors?

I would love a bookmark being a bookworm myself..anyone here not a bookworm to give an unbiased opinion LOL

Re: Wedding Favors?

Mini chocolate cakes always work!

Re: Wedding Favors?

I'm a huuge book lover, so my vote goes to bookmarks! That's a great idea actually. Do you have any websites for wedding favours that you can share? Or anyone else?

I haven't started looking into wedding favours yet, but am looking for some good websites where I can buy them in bulk.

Re: Wedding Favors?

I would love to see the bookmarks too!

with ipads n kindels being so common...i dont knw if a bookmark will be very handly.

Re: Wedding Favors?

There are a tonne of website out there for wedding favors – and they all pretty much have the same inventory.

Here’s the website where I found my bookmarks and key-chains:
http://www.weddingfavours.ca/

I have decided to go with the keychains – the bookmarks are probably not going to be very handy at a brown wedding, plus the ones on this site don’t even look like bookmarks – they’re too short and wide :S lol
