Deciding whether to do wedding favors or not. I’d rather save the money and use it for something that I think would be more appreciated/useful than some trinket that people will most likely throw away (I don’t even remember half the favors I’ve gotten at weddings), but I don’t know if foregoing the wedding favors entirely is a no-no.
What do you think? Useful? or useless? What did you do for your wedding?

I did not do wedding favors. I think they are useless and a waste of money.
And for what it’s worth, every single wedding favor I’ve ever gotten, it ended up in trash.
You already said it…you don’t remember half the favors you got as as a guest. In fact, really think about just how many wedding favors you do remember and if you can remember whose wedding you got it at. And most importantly, how many of those favors do you still have in your possession.
Didn’t do favors… they’re kinda useless.
My cousin did favors which were basically coasters… they were glass/ceramic. 2 coasters… mine i’ve placed on our table.. but the one my mom had are lost. They are nice but like i said.. kinda useless.

I’ve seen people place a card at each place setting, indicating that the money intended for the favours is being donated to charity instead.
My thought - more than the gifts you receive or the favours you give - getting the sincere well wishes and duas of people is the greatest blessing and gift for a newly-wed couple.

if you have money then you can do any thing if not then just nikkah and walima in Islam all other wastage of money
