HI All,
i have a friend who is getting married next year, however she is on the large size. what type of wedding outfit would suit her? she’s not got great height either, would really appreciate if you can also share what materials she should be using/avoiding
Many thanks x
Re: Wedding dress for the large lady
A-line dresses look flattering on most body types. I think the current fashion of long flowy wedding dresses would be appropriate for her. I find that when you are a bit on the big side, very tight fitting or short lengths don't look good. That's my personal opinion though.
Re: Wedding dress for the large lady
she should be looking for something thats long but it has to give her shape at the top so A line would work great as mentioned by Daenerys. i saw a heavy girl wearing a heavy formal (practically a bridal) and the top was fitted till the waist and flowed down from there.. it looked very streamlined but of course it depends on her shape and proportions.. if she is not too heavy on the top she could even pull off the jacket style 3 piece bridals.
the best thing to do would of course be for her to go try some different styles out!
oh yes and the kaam is important too! the girl i was talking about above was wearing a replica of this umar sayeed dress (top right) http://www.carenstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Umer-Sayeed-Designer-Bridal-Collection5.jpg
the kaam placement draws the eye in vertically and the border is a medium thickness which gives a slimming effect. if she gets something like the dress beside it with motifs all over paired with a thick border, it will make the eye go all over the place and will make her look bigger.
