as you know some peopel have two days for their wedding, the wedding day and then the walima…
what if you only have the one day…what colour dress shoudl you wear?
i ask this as many girls wear red (for sake of wearing red?) on the first day and then different more adventurous colours on other days - pink, green, gold, etc.
if you only have the one day though should you wear red or go with any colour you want?
what colour would you wear? and have any of you only had the one day celebration?
I know someone who had a one day celebration and they wore purple....odd choice but it looked nice enough.
Personally, I think if you have one day the real celebration, Islamically, is the Valima. So, I would wear pastelly colours like you would do on the Valima.
i personally dont think there should be any "rules" for wedding dresses like red or brights on baraat and pastels on valima. you should wear what suits you and what you want to wear.
i had one event and i opted for something to match my mom's emerald jewellery that i was going to wear, so my colours were champagne and ivory with little hits of green throughout.
If you have an opportunity to choose your own dress colour/style, then go with what you like. You can have multicolored kaam on a single base colour and even a two coloured outfit. Go with what you think would look best on you.
hey everybody! well i have decided to go for gold, its a banarsi look with abotu 10 panels (so not tight mermaid fit but a little wider than that) its figure hugging from the thighs and bum and the top is corset style :-D the swirls of pattern along the lower paneling is a red colour and the scarf is netted with red, it contrasts the lengha beautifully! i will try posting pictures but dont know how to on here!
i went to khusboos and i HATED it do NOT buy from there VERY BAD customer service and a lot of other reviews on net (and from friends who have bought from there) who say that theyr dresses were late or ruined or completely wrong beyond repair and they lost their deposit!! x

But i wud never do a one day wedding bcoz i wudnt be able to decide! God help my parents n my inlaws when my day comes, Im gonna want the whole shop!! hehe

this is the styke of dress that i want but mine will have red emrboidery motif (from kneee down to border at bottom) and the dupatta will be red (to match emrbopider) and it will be netted with heavy border on all sides and the same motif on the corners! what do you think?
i quite liek the idea of gold/offwhite dres with red emrboidery motif towards bottom and the netted (see through) duppata with red stones and white stones on the border, the top will be corset style with a nice frame around the neckline and the bottom of the blouse!
