Wedding cake not shared with the guests?

i dont think ive ever actually eaten the cake that the bride and groom has cut. they feed eachother and their families and then out of no where the waiters will come out and serve us slices of cake. i think most ppl just buy a cheaper bigger cake for the guests and keep the other for close friends/family for later or something

I’ve watched way too much Cake Boss but basically they’ll have a wedding cake and they bride+groom cut it at their wedding, waiters reel it in and then they serve the wedding cake PLUS the extra cake they get made on the side. Tgats how they feed everyone because like somebody said up there, it’d be cut so thin you could see your spoon through it, lol. Basically these extra cakes are made EXACTLY like the wedding cake, taste-wise, and served. I think it’s a great idea.

I’m hopefully going to have a badass Lahori wedding but I’d still want a cake but only so I can get that quirky Pakistani-bride+groom cake topper. Ahem.
