Re: wedding and moharram don't go together?
There are certain days of the Islamic calendar which have become associated with the early events of the Islamic history; for example, the 10th of Muharram is the day of mourning for the massacre at Karbala or the day of the Prophet's death in Safar, etc. Since such days are commemorated by the Muslims as days of mourning, it is socially and, to some extent, religiously not recommended to have a marriage ceremony on such days.
To do a Nikkah in a simple way and to Celebrate Marriage with "band/Baja, Dhool" Dancing on Marriage songs and to decorate houses are different things.
Imam Hussain's family was subjected to walk from karbala to kufa to shaam in the hot sand, with shackles from neck to feet, suffering humiliation upon humiliation while people threw stones and garbage on them. If we want to hold a celebration during these sacred days then we are no better than those who actually put the prophet's family through this.
If you are really in trouble, Yes, you must go ahead and do it in a simple fashion but keep Imam Hussain and his family's trouble always in your mind.
May Allah will forgive you for this.
and i hope the Prophet PBUH will have no problem on the day of judgement. Obviously you have a "Haq" on him, If you love him(PBUH).
There is a hades of Holy Prophet.
"you cant be muslim until i am dearer for you more than any your own".
Aashura and karbala is greatest tragedy of man-kind. Holly Prophet's family was killed and if some one claim that he/she love Ahlul Biat and true follower of Holy Prophet (pbuh) than thinking of getting marry with the celebration is very hard.
