Wedding and Makeup

When a bride gets her makeup done, does she come to the salon in her wedding dress or does she have to change into it? Also, how does she bring the dupatta to the salon without it getting all wrinkled up?

If a brides’s neck is darker than her face naturally, will the makeup artist fix that?

If you want a thick braid with pa***** for mehndi and your hair is short/ not very thick, will the salon use hair extensions do give you volume?

What exactly does a whitening polish at salons do? Do they do these for the entire body? Are they dangerous? And would I need it- I’m like Mehreen Syed’s color.

Re: Wedding and Makeup

You should be able to get these questions answered by the MUA herself.

She comes to the salon in her regular clothes and usually changes into her shirt before (usually, they will cover the kaam with a towel) so the MUA can see any imperfections that need to be covered.

The MUA should be able to even out the skin tone entirely, yes.

You have to ask the salon if they provide extensions, MANY do not.

A whitening polish is just bleach...nothing more or less. You won't be getting any dramatic results from it if that is what you're asking. I'd not mess with it if you've never done it before.

Re: Wedding and Makeup

It's hard to get in contact with MUAs in Pak ,they never reply, aha!
And I am actually fine with my skin tone, I'm not even dark but who doesn't want to look a little brighter on their wedding day. And by bleach do you mean hair bleach- like Jolen?

Re: Wedding and Makeup

Ooooh...in that case...someone else can guide better. I was speaking from experience with MUA and salons in US.

Its really your call about the bleach but it is just skin bleach (kinda like Jolen) which is what they call polish (sounds fancier) and the most it will do is lighten up the fuzz wherever you apply it.

For your body, if you're planning on waxing anyway, don't do the bleach. The wax will also exfoliate and that will help with a bit of a brightening effect.

Re: Wedding and Makeup

I can't say much about the other questions, but whether or not you "need" to look lighter has only to do with you. Doesn't matter what color you are, as long as you're happy and confident about it, that's all that matters. Personally, I think it's unnecessary to bleach or use brightening products just for the wedding day, you're going to be covered in makeup anyway, might as well just keep the makeup a tad brighter if you WANT to look lighter.

Btw, Jolen bleach cream doesn't make your skintone lighter, it just gives the illusion of having no hair on your face because it turns the hair blonde. If you don't have facial hair, or if you get your facial hair waxed/threaded, then bleaching won't have any effect on you.

Re: Wedding and Makeup

I can only answer the questions in bold. The bride takes her wedding dress and all of her accessories with her to the salon and gets changed there. They generally have a little changing room for this purpose, or they take you into another room that isn't being used (I experienced both when I got married. Bina Khan had the former while Cistre's didn't). Iron the dupatta at home an then take it on a hanger. It shouldn't get wrinkled this way.

The MUA will definitely be able to even the skin tone on the bride's neck.

Re: Wedding and Makeup

The peach fuzz I have on my face is already really light so I guess I don't need it. Thank youuu!
