My website is acting weird since last week, feedback says it is very slow. I have tried to mock transact and it is really very slow. I have optimized it already I wonder what is causing the high website latency of my site. My website developer is out of the country at the moment so I need to work on this on my own. Any suggestions?

there could be a number of reasons. what OS/Platform are you running? what DB?
Assuming no code or traffic changes, i would look at the database server performance and only then worry about web server. are the two on the same box?

Try pinging your server and see the response you get. That would tell you if your web host is slow. If your pinging is good then it could mean the database issues.

May i know on which framework your website is built?
some third party plug increase loading time of your website.you should add alt image tag and minifications your css and javascript and also you can find some solutions on
Google Page Speed insight test.
and One thing more use Optimized images and trying to resize them to reduce website performances.
