Webcamming Publicly

What do you think of people webcamming in public areas? Such as coffee shops, library’s, parks, etc.

It’s more personal than just a phone call, but is it the same thing as sitting with another person and talking, except that they’re in a computer?

And what if they’re not wearing headphones?

Hehe not long ago this Pakistani man was skyping/webcamming in the library. I all of a sudden heard somebody talking loudly in urdu. And there he was discussing some matters.

He didnt seem to have any privacy issues so :k:

LOL Ya I have seen an uncle webcamming in a library. That to without headphones .

Personally, I find it pretty weird. I don’t know, just knowing I can see someone maybe sitting across the world in their own personal space is a no no. And plus once people around you figure out that you’re talking to a computer, everyone is just a little uncomfortable until you get done. Or maybe that’s just me

lol, the man I am talking about also didnt have any headphones. So I could hear the person on the other side as well. It didnt make me uncomfortable, I was just wondering that isnt he feeling awkward, but apparently not, because he kept talking
But I would have felt awkward if i were in his place.

Cant do it with my sister/ami/father/nephew or a potential They’d all be busy taking the mickey out of me. The last one especially, since she might ask me to scream "Insert appropriate romantical little statement here* to prove myself. Been there, done that. Not so cool it ever was.

I could do it with Bhai or friends though. But there’s a downside to that as well, people around us might not be way too comfortable with us talking too loudishly, something we often do about games or the usual everyday guy chores/fits.

As long as they're not doing anything naughty on the webcam I don't see it being much of a problem really, apart from the general odd looks.

I do that from time to time in the library but usually find a place that's generally secluded so I can be all weird and conky

there was a time when ppl talking on bluetooth felt like loonies talking to u or themselves. so one day webcamming will be a norm too. just change ur spot if u r uncomfy or let them know if they r too loud.

Webcamming etiquette are exactly the same when calling someone from a public place and having that person on speaker phone.

Volume should be low enough, so not to disturb other people
The other party should know that you are webcamming from a public place and others can see your screen (and hence that person)

As long as they have earphones and are talking quietly its fine

So many int’l students in the library be doing this - Chinese ones cant seem to keep their volume down though
