Web trends tools

I am looking to find a new tool we can use at my new job to track the number of visitors on sharepoint 2007 and some other sites. Does anyone know of some free tools or fairly inexpensive tools to find out trends? Does anyone have experience with webtrends in general? You help will be greatly appriciated.

thanks

Re: Web trends tools

haven't worked with webtrends but have used deepmetrix in conjunction with sharepoint.

I get a lot of consulting work for web mining and analytics type projects and almost always, based on client needs, a customized solution is required.

I've been hearing good things about clicktracks though but haven't tried it myself just yet.

Re: Web trends tools

check out this project of gorbet designs that they made for Herman Miller.
i know it may be costly for you but just wanted to share.

i find it impressive. :jano:

idea behind the project was

“We created an interactive installation which projects graphics driven by the activity of website users as they browse and buy furniture online.”

so everytime a user go to the site. a square appears on Herman Miller office (or where ever). n when ever some one buys anything, image of that marchandise appears on the screen.

in this way, supervisor gets a summary of which time of the day there is more traffic. n bla bla.

Re: Web trends tools

I’ve worked with Awstats on a number of occassions. Its pretty straight-forward to setup and easy to use. Try it out.

Re: Web trends tools

I use SmarterStats which offers a free edition which is basically a complete Enterprise Edition but only limited to a single site.

Re: Web trends tools

Thanks all for your input....

I checked those systems out but it doesnt seem it they would work well with our sites. Any others?

Thanks.

Re: Web trends tools

Well, that doesn’t make sense. Why would you need such a tool if you don’t have any sites? Or am I missing something here? :konfused:

Re: Web trends tools

I think she meant to say “… with our* sites.” Just a typo dude. I am sure you knew it though.

Re: Web trends tools

There I fixed it… Feel better :barbie:
