hmm white may look too bland on a wedding esp for a bride.... however ivory and offwhites r fine esp on walima infact such colors luk better on valimas.

I've always thought that hotter/brighter tones look better on desi brides, but if you do prefer the white then I personally think Ivory shade looks nice.

I've known/seen several brides wear white/ivory outfits for nikkah ceremony in the States.

I wore a traditional white dress on my nikkah ceremony....

white looks great on wedding day!! combine it with maroon,haute pink,darkgreen or dark red... it will look amazing...
one of my friend wore white outfit with dull gold and red-green kaam on it...

I'm wearing cream white on my wedding with purple borders. I've always wanted white and feel like red is just too common now. I personally feel white brings in elegance and is so pristine.

in our culture, at least in the olden days, the brides wore white dresses if it was their second marriage...red dresses were primarily for first-time brides. :)

I wore white for my wedding. Im not really a "red" person, I just have never really liked the colour even though everyone told me it suited me. And my mom doesnt like red either. Everyone was behind my decision to wear white, especially my dad, who never interferes/doesnt know anything about clothing!

It was a mix of white, ivory and taupe with dull gold and silver work. And no, it wasnt my second marriage!

^Same here.. my family's encouraged me to go for ivory or some other light colour (baby pink was an alternative)..

Hey, Im getting married this year and Im going to wear ivory on the wedding day. Personally I think it looks a little more classy. Im bored of the typical reds plus I dont think red suits me anyway. To be honest I dont think it matters what colour you wear as long as you're comfortable and happy wearing it :)
