Do we remove our shoes before entering our home? Some people forbid shoes in their homes, while others consider being asked to remove their shoes nothing short of offensive.I don’t like any person enter in my home wearing shoes nor i prefer to walk in others house wearing shoes. If I can’t remove my shoes due to whatever reason I prefer to stay outside rather then entering in.
I believe in some culture, shoes are restricted in the house but in some others cultures its a tradition. What you guyz have to share?
due to weather conditions, it's Canadian tradition to take shoes off at the door. it's universal in Canada from east to west coast.

also, in Hindu traditions, most people take their shoes off b4 entering homes.**

What about Japanese? I watched on TV that Japanese don't prefer wearing shoes in education center (classroom) too? Is that correct?
probably in their homes they do NOT wear shoes but at work place i think they do...idk for sure :)
Its not a requirement but because all the floors are carpeted in our house, we like to take our shoes off when entering the living space of the house. Its easy to do namaz if prayer rug is not handy.
All the desi folks I know myself included have this rule , take your shoes off at the entrance. Everybody obliges it and I have never heard anybody complaining about it. When they see our show rack at the entrance they do it on their own ,we do not have to tell them or ask them to take their shoes off.
shoes are allowed in my house. infact walking bear foot is considered bad and we get scolded by our mom-dad since we sit on the bed and sofas with the same dirty feet. so they always say wear your slippers. when we had carpets in our house we werenot allowed to walk on the carpet with our shoes. now its all marble in the whole house but we avoid shoes in the room since we pray there.
