As far as I know it protects hair from UV rays

Re: wearing scarf damage hair?
^hormones?
Re: wearing scarf damage hair?
wearing scarf only makes ur hair "a little bit" oily, thats it... it cant damage ur hair :)
Re: wearing scarf damage hair?
And depending on how tight you wear it it can cause a receding hairline since most likely your hair is pulled back in a tight bun or ponytail and the scarf is also pulling it back if you have it pinned tight. Are you noticing hair loss mainly at the front of your head?
Re: wearing scarf damage hair?
I noticed a major difference in my hair when I started hijab, and it was a positive difference. It's silky and smooth, and the curls are enhanced because my hair is in a bun. And my hair is much stronger than they were before. Your hair is falling out most likely because of hormones or it may be a genetic thing in your family.

i agree with this and it happened to me.
Re: wearing scarf damage hair?
Depends on the material/color of the scarf. Darker colors such as black absorb UV rays. And yes...hijab can make your hair greasy...especially if you have fine hair. Thicker hair absorbs the natural oils of the scalp better. Oiliniess can clog your pores and affect your hair.....but you have to wash it. There is such a thing as losing your hair due to traction.....where if you style or part your hair in the same direction...you can lose hair in that area. So, if you're wearing hijab.....maybe take into consideration your hairstyle underneath (change it up a bit) and the tightness of the hijab.

Re: wearing scarf damage hair?
hey afshi..im a hijaban too..how did you tackle the issue then? do you still pull back your hair tightly??or do u wear the scarf loosely

Okay, then def. try to loosen the scarf. Don't wear a tight under-piece and keep your bun as loose as possible. And always brush out your hair against the direction of the pulling after you take the scarf off.
