I really don't see a problem with it. Like angelfairy said, so long as you aren't trying to outdo the bride with kaam, you're good to go.
Angel...that sucks. I feel for you. I don't know why people lose their minds over stuff like this. But you know what would really show your relatives that you don't give a flying flip about what they do? Not saying anything to them and looking more fabulous on your wedding day than your cousin ever has her whole life.
