so i had my appointment yesterday, and the doc asked me to stop wearing a panty when at home.
For me, its a bit uncomfortable to do so, because of the discharge i am having.
i searched over google and so far i have read their are no issues in keep wearing them until you hit labor
What did you momz out there do?
and i am 27 weeks yayyyyy MA
sometimes i pray for all the TTC GS ladies trust me, there’s a time for everything, i too kept trying for long before i got pregnant
Pls wear a chaddi and a maternity one at that… Baddua dr ko do gi for letting u live ure pregnant life so far without this k owledge…and dua to me for introducing u to maternity chaddis.
did the doctor give a reason for this instruction?
that's really sounds ridiculous.....unless the discharge is causing other problems like bacteria.
wear the maternity panties and liners.....replace the liner as soon as it becomes soiled to keep yourself clean.

no she did not, i cldnt ask her at that time, that's why i asked here.
i am thinking of using pads, as so far i cldnt find liners here in islamabad
The advise might have been given if there is a chance of a bacterial infection due to the discharge (which can cause major problems to both mother and child!). The area needs to be kept clean and most importantly, exposed to air at all times to avoid the infection.
Do not use a panties/ liners/ pads until the Dr allows it... you should go back and clear the issue with the Dr first.
sometimes I find that the doctors in Pakistan feel offended if you question their instructions.....they take it as if you are doubting their knowledge. they don't seem to understand that you may just be curious and don't understand why you have been asked to do something that otherwise would seem bizarre.
another reason why she may not have given you the reason is that she may have found it awkward to instruct you to "keep the area clean and dry".....she may have been trying not to offend you.

THIS is so true... some docs have such an ego issue. My sis was diagnosed with a double uterus AFTER she found out she was pregnant for the first time. So she took a list of questions to ask the "bohot hi senior doctor"... the response from the doctor was "i dont have time to answer your questions" (her exact words!)
to the OP, panty liners are better than pads which tend to be much too heavy for daily pregnancy discharge. Always makes great, thin ones that you can't even feel.
i so agree, my doctor is a very senior one, very nice but on my last appointment, she seemed to be in such a hurry that she said ok you are fine, see you next time BYE and went to see another lady.... i had a few questions to ask her but well i thought next time.
i am afraid to offend her in any way, even if she makes me wait for 2-3 hours even after appointment time.
anyways thank you much, at the moment i dont have any infection or irritation, but i guess this might be the reason why she said i shdnt be wearing a panty. i am still wearing one, because it is so uncomfortable to move around without one.

I dont get it, why people get so rude, patient is paying a huge amount, trusting you and this is the response??? they dont have time... so sad
there is no reason why you cannot consult with another doctor.......you don't have to transfer your regular care to them but have a consultation so that you can get your questions answered.
don't operate blindly.....
